The #1 guy at my dealer for the new M2 is paying 20k over! These people are just crazy! Give it a year or two and these will discounted.
Insane!

Had a client come in asking to be first on the list. Poor guy is late to the party.

Have you tracked the 3.0? I got smoked by one on my first ever track day. I'm in an E92 and am a novice track driver for context. Either way I was really impressed by the 3.0. Would love to hear your perspective on it?

It's a B58 that weighs 3400 pounds. It flies.

Checking in! #3 on my dealers list…

Switched from my second G80 order to this…wanted to try something new, and with the LCI coming next year figured I could pick one up after the M2

I'm pumped - this car is going to be a beast

Congrats!

I see that you are a 997.2 owner as well. Amazing car! Last of the analog 911s.

I have a 2019 G series X6, a 2020 F series X1 and a 2022 G series M240i, previously I've owned several F-series Beemers - an M235i, M435i and an M4 - I now have an $1,000 deposit/EOI on an M2 allocation.

I'd like to think brand loyalty would play a factor in allocations but who knows. I do have a good relationship with several dealerships, I suspect that will help as much as anything.

So will BMWNA hand out allocation at launch next month or do we have to wait longer?

I have no clue, all I know is my dealer said day of is when I can come down and give my spec I want. I'm first on the list so I'd assume it'll be first for production in Dec but I'm not going to assume cause I have an RS3 that's been on order since May and still no allocation.

BMW will hand out a HEA car in November which may or may not be modifiable.

#3 on list at my dealer. No deposit.
Put down $1000 last year at same dealer to get a spot for a g80 allocation. Got a cpo f30 from them years back. Good Relationships pay off sometimes I guess.

I was told (and I'll admit that I think the dealer is guessing based on past experience) but it will at least partially based on customers who have orders in with deposits. He said too many customers are putting in their names at multiple dealers, which I can certainly understand. Sure he could be lying to me to get a deposit but it's the same dealer I got my G82 from, so I think there's a little more to it than that. I'm sure it's also at least partially based on sales of other M cars, etc.

I watched a video on Z06 allocations and there was a rumor (or maybe confirmed) Z06 allocations were based at least partially off LT3 sales of base Vettes which seems incredibly asinine but is stupid enough to be true.

I'm #3 on my dealers list.

Are there any detailed reviews of iDrive8? I looked on YouTube and there's a few intro type videos by dealers but I'd love to see something that goes into great detail on both the good and bad. I've tried to catch an IX before they're sold at my local dealer to experience it but haven't caught one yet.

Look over in the G42 forum as 2023 owners are receiving their cars now.

It will be a nice car for sure, but all of us should be able to get it at some point within those 6-7 years.

Quite likely I will take a closer look at the G87 M2 LCI scheduled to go into production in April 2025 (only two years after first G87 M2 deliveries [April 2023]). Time and life moves on, that's true. But like most who drive an F87 M2C, I won't have any less 'Freude am Fahren' in the meantime.

Genuinely happy for all those getting the G87 M2 in the meantime. It also promises to be a good piece of kit.

Most likely going to wait for the LCI as well for these reasons.
  • More color options available. None of the currently known colors excite me.
  • Individual should be available by then. *fingers crossed*
  • Revised exterior styling. LCI usually also get revised headlights and taillights too, not the form factor of the lights, but rather their design.
  • Revised interior styling. Hoping they integrate the screen better into the dash.
  • Newer iDrive version that should improve on the customer complaints of iD8.
  • Maybe they'll put fixed calipers in the rear. Hey, one can dream.
  • M Performance options would have been available for a while with some good member feedback on them.
  • The aftermarket for the car will be mature, such as exhaust, suspension etc. which I plan on modding.
It will be hard to live vicariously through other members with their cars, but I have plenty on my plate to keep me busy until then. Planning on buying a new home next year, something that took a back seat in 2020 due to covid. Other life events and plans over the next couple of years. In the meantime, I will remain a voracious consumer of anything G87 related and by the time I actually buy the car I should know it pretty darn well up and down, inside and out.

Well said, I'm in the same boat, will try to get the G87 M2C LCI variant but still keep the F87 M2C. It's a one fine car!

Lots of waiting going on. Wait for the F87 LCI, no wait for the F87 M2C, no wait for the F87 M2CS, no wait for the G87, no maybe the G87 LCI, no wait for the G87 M2CS(maybe L), maybe I'll just wait for the H87. Saying this in jest reading the posts, but can always wait for the next iteration and not enjoy what's available today.
