I cancelled my M2 order for very similar reason. My sales was able to put the deposit towards my wife’s new X1 coming this month with my history of BMW/Minis I bought from him. I got confirmed allocation for 718 Spyder RS and also McLaren 750S (replace current 570S), the other car staying to join them is a limited edition Renault Megane RS Trophy-R which I really like. Having had F87 M2, 981 GT4 and a mix of JDM and Euro hot hatches in the past, I was 50/50 on the G87 M2. I know it isn’t fair cos no doubt the new G87 M2 is a great car, but then once you’ve gone Porsche and above you would think otherwise. I even bought a set of 826M wheel for the M2 well early to put it on once it arrive. Maybe in the future if I can expand my garage a M car definitely has its place, for now I can only have 3 cars to my own at a time will have to make some sacrifices..

I've spoken to a few dealership's, it's definitely our Quarantine at our Ports that's the issue..

Yep exactly what my dealer told me too. 17+ ships are waiting to unload cargo and the delays are due to quarantine checks, well more due to the delays caused if something is found during the checks. Allegedly, if this happens, the whole container and all cars within are disinfected causing further delays.

I’m still at status 165 - although my SA has said he has had G42’s showing the same code for ages despite actually being on a ship already. Fingers crossed that is the case, he is following up with logistics to see if he can nail down where it is exactly!

Meanwhile - they finally got their demo in this week. Was great to see it in person finally, +1 on the pics doesn’t do it justice brigade! Looks amazing in person! Hasn’t helped my anticipation for mine though!

Ordered the m perf mirror caps to be installed when it arrives and took a look at the price list for the rest of the parts! Some quite spicy numbers, particularly the titanium exhaust at 18.5k fitted!!!!! Oddly the rear diffuser in carbon is cheaper than the mirror caps!

Also we observed the m2 sounded better/louder than a G80 they also have in the showroom - the guys don’t know why it does but is def better !

The actual foot and mouth issue only affects second hand cars but they're applying a one rule for all approach, due to laziness and incompetent management no doubt. Of course the millions of containers coming into the country that would be far more likely to carry nefarious diseases pass right through but for some reason they've decided to target brand new fresh out of manufacturer premium German vehicles this time. Brilliant.

I don't mind as much when gov department incompetence indirectly affects me but when it directly affects me I get quite annoyed..

Hmm I've had a few new Beemers and have never come across this anomaly, including my G42 which was delivered in Feb 2022 but who knows, maybe this is the case..

Cars are definitely coming in, including G87s but these were seemingly manufactured in Dec/Jan - maybe Feb? So +3-5months from birthday to delivery.

All this after China Virus delays, Ever Given and semi-conductor shortages..

No worries! The full fitted price of the mirror caps is $2970, although your dealer likely will be able to do better. Tbh it’s a lot for these, but I have had non oem carbon on cars before and will never do it again - the non oem stuff never holds up the same to our UV.

Rear diffuser is $2420 fitted - no idea how that works out but a relative bargain lol I’m undecided on that, if I do it, will likely go all out and get the small rear spoiler and carbon front inlets - initially just the mirrors will be fine and I will live with it a bit to see what else to add!

Thanks Grace - at those prices, will hold off for now. My focus is initially on PPF which will cost a fair bit for the full car so might starting budgeting that in. I like the idea of the rear spoiler and front inlets - both help the profile of the car!
