Again, I will point to last season where the car was LESS competitive than it is now. This year, the only thing that changed was his contract for next year. Mercedes made it clearly they didn’t want HAM (lack of meaningful extension) and he’s making it clear the doesn’t want them.

They have literally gave him bad strategy and Sabotaged him this year. If I were HAM, I wouldn’t give anything more than minimal effort which I assume is what he's doing.

HAM is far and away the best pure racer on the grid, there literally is no one better. I’m expecting him to beat Russell this season barely and the Dominate Max next. I’m not sure what the board will do when Max goes back to his old ways of being mediocre without the car advantage,

He beat him by A MILE last season. The reason he’s not is been mentioned by Lewsi and the media. RUS IS GETTING upgrades first and wasn’t used as the testin mule at the beginning of the season. Since that’s stopped HAM/RUS are neck and neck and he’s not even trying.

Charlie is just ok, maybe on Verstappen level or a little lower, so in other words he’s not even in the same real as HAm. It’s going to be embarrassing hearing the excuses

Remember, I was crazy today for saying Ham would likely be too 3 - and look where we are now. Some people just don’t know a good river when they see one.

Nice race. The top-spending teams are cracking the formula, getting more competitive. Too bad there'll only be one more year of this formula. FIA needs to introduce a handicap system for the laggers. Haas cutting through the field was brilliant. We need more of that kind of stuff.

I think Red Bull is going to regret giving Checo the 2 year extension. It’s likely they did it to appease Max but it’ll hurt their constructor’s dominance. I believe the right move would have been to get Sainz, he’s much more consistent than Checo and has done better while clearly being in the inferior car these past few years at Ferrari. Sainz wouldn’t have been a threat to Max’s title run but would help the team keep their run in the constructors.

As for the race, we were owed an exciting one after Monaco, thankful for the rain. Excellent fights all through the field. Baffled as to how Ferrari’s pace fell off a cliff, hopefully it’s a blip and they get back on the right track-pun intended.

Overall, this has been the best season since 2021 with Ferrari and McClaren now in it.

I did not expect RB to re-sign Perez, given that Max has said very clearly he does not care who his team mate is. A good number of people thought that ALO and Sainz were in the mix.

Perez to me has been a good driver, not elite, but good. But it looks like he's starting to regress like Daniel Ricciardo.

100% agree, it does seem he has been slowly declining since midway last year and I think it has some to do with the constant rumors of the team moving on from him but mostly due to the mental beat down of being Max’s teammate. At his peak he is an excellent #2 driver on a constructors winning team or a #1 on a top midfield team, but now he’s turning into a liability for their constructors hopes. You would think now that the contract is secured, he can settle and regain form.
