He was a rescue dog that we found at a foster home west of the Twin Cities, MN. So many great memories and we spoiled him so much in his final days. My boys (who are 9 and 7) knew him their whole lives so it was super hard to tell them he was being put down but we were super transparent with why and what the process was for Tank.

I miss having a fur baby running around the house but feels like I'm years away from being able to accept that I could have another puppy as there is no way they could measure up to Tank.
I felt the same way after we put our girl Poppy down after 13 years. We waited about 5 months and weren't really looking or feeling ready for another one then on a whim we visited our vet who was having adoptions and voila we wound up being chosen by Bugs, best decision that was made for us.

Sorry for your loss.

Seldom will a dog measure up to another. They each have their own personal potential and personality. It can be hard sometimes but it's up to us to recognize that and nuture each pupper as such. Otherwise, it's unfair to everyone.

Your family and Tank gave each other 10+ years of love and companionship that nothing can ever change or take away. A new pup would be just that: a new pup, not a new Tank.

It's a shame that our furry friends don't have longer life spans.

Tank was a handsome boy.
And yeah, seldom does a dog measure up to another. They all have their own persona - some commonalities, but each their own individual.

I do wish our furry pals had longer life spans.

My gal stretching, chilling and riding shotgun in the M4.

She's an Australian Cobberdog.
Laidback and sensitive, I never met a dog with so much empathy.

Depending on time of year and trim she either resembles an elegant Poodle or Chewbacca

Our family had a moment this past weekend when we were out of town. We came across a family that had a 90 lb wiemaraner that was 9 months old. He was a beautiful dog and I had an impulse to steal him. It made me think that at some point I will be able to accept getting a new puppy and I think the family is aligned on a weimaraner. So the dog was amazing but they completely named him wrong by calling him "Chippy". Not a match for that dog at all.

That really tears me up. I already have 4 Rottweilers waiting for me there. Their names and ages are Martin ( 10 ), Mugen ( 13 ), Motegi (6 ) and Leonidas ( 5 ) already there waiting for me.

At least in the G31 it’s mainly confined to the boot & their hair doesn’t stick to the boot protector I bought, taking them out in the disco 4 where they travel on the back seat is messy & takes about an hour to dehair it before work on a Tuesday
Strangely Frank seems to shed the most
