The car isn't even out yet but people are already looking forward to LCI..

I'm #3 on waitlist at my dealership, coming from a mint condition E92 M3, I wonder how the driving experience will compare.

Because we know it's got a limited and IMO lame exterior color palette. Only two colors for the interior, black and cognac. iD8 panel is just slapped on without any round gauges or real customization. Same rear taillight style as G42, etc. LCI is only 2yrs away, not 4 or more like some think. And I'll bet you the Competition model will come out before the LCI, which might also be available with a MT.

Some want this car yesterday, and that's great. If others prefer to wait and see what develops that's their prerogative. I don't see why that bothers some people. It's almost like the stupid debates over MT & AT, RWD & AWD. Who gives a toss what someone else wants, so long as you have the option to get what you want.

Problem is the LCI doesn't guarantee fixes for any of those "issues". You may be waiting 2+ years for more issues and less options.

As for the gauges...they're more customizable than any previous cluster, so that's progress, but they're far from Audi has done.

But you're right, at the end of the day its one's prerogative if they want to wait. I'm in buy now mode so that's what I'll be doing.

Pretty much on the same boat unless this thing by some nightmare comes out butt ugly.

I wouldn't call them issues, more like limitations. There won't be less options, if they take one off the table it will get replaced with another. I also know that nothing is guaranteed, but I'm willing to wait and see. I can assure you this, I won't wait any longer after the LCI is out.

Regarding the cluster, I just want round gauges. Regarding iDrive in general I want something better integrated into the dash. Every LCI gets an updated interior, including the dashboard. Just look at the stark difference between the OG M2 and the LCI M2.

Right, and I'm going to be relying on you for your insight once you get that sweet ride. Won't be long before I join the club.

People want more colors, options, and customization but complain about the projected price being $70k+… some of y'all don't make much sense.

That seems to vary model to model and it certainly depends how far back you go.

Agreed. I think we have to temper our expectations. We're already bringing half of the G8X parts over, they have to keep costs down somewhere.

I think seats and interior will take the biggest hit.

I totally agree. I am fine with the fact they're still offering a manual which is beefed up with some extra horsepower. The extra weight doesn't bother me as it's all a byproduct of the process. I am also unbothered by the fact there is no intermediate between regular seats vs carbon fiber seats. This is a low tier M car on the totem pole in regard to size, customization, power, etc.

Are you folks getting MSRP on your allocations? I asked my local dealer (who I've gotten 2 previous cars from) and they want 10k over. Kind of annoyed at them.

That's when I asked.

And 10k over is absurd. Sad really.

Yeah they wanted 10, I'll pay 5 over.

Doesn't bug me.

Paid 5 over for my f87 too… whatever.

Definitely wish I could get the loyalty discount like I did on my M4.

There's no harm in waiting. Everyone has their style of doing things.
