Not surprised by the amount of hate this car has received. We seem to want to hate on what's new.
Serious question, was anyone excited about the look of this car when it first launched? The answer is no. I'm sure bland/boring was a common narrative. They changed that with this car. Give it time because the G22 will grow on you. There are elements of this car that are fantastic and far superior to the outgoing model. |

I was sitting at a stoplight this morning and right in front of me I see the inspiration for the tail lights. Hahaha. Looks like bmw reached into the Honda/Acura parts bin. Or at least the same oe light maker:

The wide fenders, power dome hood, updated interior+tech are steps in the right direction. Wait till we see a few modded ones and people will change their mind quicker than the G80. |

While to my eyes certain styling details are awkward, and overwrought, I don't hate it overall. In fact I'm sure I'd get used to it. And hope the extra more aggressive details on the M2 will work well with the overall design.
Bring on the M2, Competition or CS, with a manual. No manual = no sale.

Yooooo...almost 3,900 lbs for the M240i xDrive???? What in the HELL.
In my opinion, the F22 2 Series was the only great new BMW. Decent looks, not too big, not too heavy, available manual transmission. This is none of that. Super cheesy looks, freaking huge, morbidly obese, automatic only. It might be a comfortable car but that is the only thing it has going for it.
