I baked my first "loaf" of sourdough last night.

Son brought home starter, I've been learning. Then yesterday when I took some SRF ribeye out, I asked if he was making any contribution. He had mixed up a batch to take to his buddy's house, so poured ingredients into a bowl and gave me the details.

It didn't seem like I had enough time between then and dinner to get 3 pulls and a rest/rise, so this is pretty dense. Still went very well with ribeye/loaded mashed potatoes.

My last experiment with Levantine bread was a bit of a hit and miss. I made a few newbie mistakes. It was not bad tasting but I didn't like the final product and presentation.

This time I used another recipe and followed it to the letter.

Well... It turned out perfect and almost as nice as the pictures in the above link.
I did however used the Zatar spice mix in moderation for my first batch.
