But the engine is a bit nicer than a Dodge Caravan.

I simply don't understand why the G87 crowd gets so wound up over a bunch of anonymous opinions trashing the appearance of their cars. Really, WGAS! I remember when I bought the 1M and read all the online comments about it being a "parts bin Frankenstein/afterthought" lol, it didn't affect me one iota cause I loved driving it.
Some folks hereabouts hate the look of the F87, doesn't bother me in the least. As someone that will test drive the G87, that is what will persuade me one way or the other, not what some fool on a message board thinks about the hood bumper tie in. Fact is I haven't read any negative reports about its capabilities (other than the Laurel & Hardy Show we all know as TH), talk about losing credibility going forward. Can you imagine if it was universally attractive yet underperformed? Now that would be truly ugly...

I find it cool because the car looks gundam. I know some won't like that but I'm not bothered by the fact.

Because that effort costs money, and then the M2 wouldn't exist for anything less than CSL money. In other words, it wouldn't be a base M2 at all.

I guess I just find it weird that people keeping wanting the BASE M2 to be a Lotus or a Porsche. That's not what it is, that's a different kind of car. I think the M2 is not intended for you, but it IS intended for me, so please quit trying to change it. You already have cars that do what you want, don't try to take the car I want away from me. |

Of course there is! Techologically, beautiful machine. But the new design turned me off on two M’s already and in one case I gave up my allocation.
It can be the most awesome car in the world. The way it looks and the interior are key elements for me. I want to love the car not accept it. This car, for me, is beyond ugly. But, as said, this is a subjective matter. Some buy it because they love it, some accept it because “there’s more than just the looks”, some really don’t care. Each with its own. |

I know, we all have different perspectives and opinions, crazy huh? I personally love the e36, had posters of it as a kid, saved up and got one when I was 21, and it's still one of the coolest cars to me. That's probably why I love the g87, it's like a modern blend of the e30/e36

The g42 is a much better looking car. Personal opinion obviously. I guess he is there 2 series guy. BMW needs to revamp their designer lineup.
