Talked to Nick (Rich is sick today) at Resonix about the unit and the dip switches and/or any software of any sort to work with it..
He said the questions I'm asking are the very reason he no longer carries the product. He could never get any real support or documentation on it from the Chinese manufacturer. What they'd send him would be in Chinese and translation attempts always failed. After promising things to customers, only to find out things didn't work out, was enough to have him get out of it. It really sucks because I've tasted the goodness and I want this thing to work. I can tell already the car will sound absolutely amazing, fully re-tuned/re-EQ'd. We've gotta get a solution to make this work.

There appears to be a few uk based car audio shops using this box , wonder if its worth reaching out to them to see if they can offer any information.
for example https://www.audiofile-incar.co.uk/pr...-with-id7-id8/ |

Wow! Thank you celica570 !
HOW DO I GET THE SOFTWARE?!?! I’ve got an email out to the UK shop. I got a bounce-back saying he’d be back in on Tuesday. I wonder if we can somehow track it down on our own…. $20 PayPal to whoever can provide a download link or send via email first. ![]() Not only am I a guinea pig for this product, I’m a paying guinea pig. ![]() EDIT: My Google-fu is at it’s end. Nothing I can find on Tuning/Turning Solutions pointing to a download like or anything. Tuning Solutions is a whole ‘nother thing that’s not audio related.

On the EwayGPS website it shows the Tuning Solutions logo that matches the preamp sold by the Audiofile British store. EwayGPS probably ships the box with the software. I emailed EwayGPS, if they answer, hopefully I will get a copy of the software. You can try as well. Rich, who you bought it from, really should get you the software, especially given the price you paid. https://ewaygps.com/product/optical-...t-description/ With luck, maybe the Audiofile guys can send you the software, or Rich can, or maybe EwayGPS will send me a copy which I can forward. ETA: I emailed Shenzhen Luchi Electronic Technology Co.,Ltd, the distributor on GlobalSources.com and asked if their bulk deal for 3 units, 300$ each, comes with the software and plug and plug wiring harness. Maybe we can get somewhere on that avenue too. Last edited by AdonisP91; 02-09-2025 at 10:19 AM.. |

Thanks AdonisP91
I also just emailed ewaygps. Yes, I agree Rich should have already had all of this ready and available. Goes without saying. Let’s hope he can pull through on this too. EDIT: Just emailed him again with all of this new info.

The lossless CD quality while preserving the system sounds is kinda nice, plus one can ditch the factory ram booster amplifier and eliminate the alpha one/match up T harness. Making more room for the installation of this box and a trunk sub monoblock amp. Last but not least, with the flick of a DIP switch, given the tech document posted from celica570 we can disable the stock loudness compensation. No more input EQ’ing at all, everything just works properly. I’ll probably still try to fix the analog input signal so people don’t need to resort to buying this device, but it sure does look nice. |

BTW, I have a long history of audio (home +car) and have done tons of testing of lossless and compressed audio formats. I can easily hear the difference between a 320 mp3 vs lossless FLAC. Especially using high-end studio monitor-type speakers. I can quickly A/B over and over with my PC. I have always thought FLAC was overkill in cars as the quality and noise floor didn’t lend to hear the difference between. Somewhat recently, with the advent of 512GB and 1TB USB thumb drives, I decided to start experimenting with A/Bing mp3 320/VBR/FLAC.
With 3 vehicles with fairly high-end systems, I can say I absolutely can hear the difference between lossless and compressed audio. It is especially noticeable in the cymbals and the imaging high frequencies. The sound/stage is more open and smooth. Occasionally I can hear the difference in the upper midbass, but mostly highs. I don’t want to turn this into an ugly debate as it’s a hot topic that could derail us here, but I would highly recommend FLAC in your car. You don’t even need to go 96/24 or higher bitrates. I have never been able to hear the difference of high-resolution vs 44/16 in a car. I’ve taken 96/24 files and downscaled them to 44/16 and they sound identical in a car, in my A/B tests. If you can hear a difference there, in a car, more power to you. Obviously, you have to do these test using the exact same identical mastering. You can’t compare an old master to a new hi-res master. The mastering is different - you’ll hear all sorts of things, usually not in a good way. Thus why I downscaled the original to a std resolution for comparison purposes. Not to mention a lot of hi-res content is a scam - they’ve take a std res and upscaled it higher. An examination of the frequencies reveal nothing above std res. Each offering must be examined to be sure. Lossless vs compressed? Absolutely. I’ve got clean aftermarket headunits in the cars I’m talking about. I don’t know, yet, if the M2 will show me the difference. I assume if I can get this digital box working 100%, I will, but we’ll see. This would obviously be when the M2 is off. The noise floor is just too high in the car while it’s on the road. I’m coming to terms with that. YMMV

Ok so it looks very promising, let’s see how BroDoze’s test work out. What I am thinking we should do is see who might be interested in this forum, looking at the other models not only the g87 and g42 folks.
Then we can do a bulk buy. For example, let’s say 3 ppl are interested. We buy 3 for 900$ (assuming the Global Sources ones come with the wiring harness). BroDoze led the charge as the guinea pig so we need to compensate him. He paid probably like 900-1000$, so we have the 3 bulk units plus BroDoze’s unit, so 4 in total split between us all. ~500$ each. If more people join the bulk buy we can get the costs down. If 9 people wanted to bulk buy, we would have it down to like 360$ a piece. Thoughts? |

Picture 1 - When I first Plugged it in - see how low all the volumes are?
Picture 2 - What I landed on as a first pass in the freezing garage. Oh, you need a driver. I opened Device Manager cause nothing was happening when I hit the 'Connect' button. I saw the 'USB Serial' device was driverless. I chose the option to hit Windows Update and it immediately found a suitable drive and installed it (Win11 24H2). Hit the Connect button and it worked immediately. Also, these settings are all with the ATF's Digital Global Gain turned down to -8 or -10 (can't remember. Gain at 0 way WAY too hot. I was about to blow shit up at 55%-60% volume. I can now put the car back together as I have a USB-C <> USB 6ft cable. So I'll have 2 accessabile that I can jack into with my 15ft extension whenever I need to make any changes. Time to EQ/RTA the car again. I should probably re-time align everything again, first.
