I probably would have pulled the trigger if they did not have that middle carbon piece, however they're so good looking!
ive heard people in reviews saying the middle piece effects using the clutch, or that the side bolsters are in the way of your elbow when grabbing' knob.

Neither effect literally anything, and come into play zero times.

theyre the best factory seats on the market and you use the clutch and shift it no different than any other manual car.

for reference 6'1, 220. built like a hot ass linebacker. somewhere between yoked to the gills, and gross beer gut. if that clears up nothing for you

Well now you've gone ahead and made me envious and regret not getting them! That is sick to hear first hand that they're actually awesome. Damn reviews always give the most irrelevant feedback when I'm trying to make a game time decision LOL. Maybe down the road I will swap for some or just buy some aftermarkets.

The hump doesn't affect using the clutch, it does affect heel-toeing, which is not a problem if you don't or can't do it and just keep the auto rev match switched on instead.

It depends on technique used for heel-toe, but in my case I pivot the right leg so my foot is at about 45 degrees across the brake and throttle peddles, ball of the foot on the brake, heel on the mat infront of the throttle and side of foot used to blip the throttle with an ankle flex. This requires the right knee to be almost touching the left knee and over the centerline of the seat, the hump prevents this unless the seat is moved too close to the pedals and lifts the legs off the seat squab.

Overall the hump makes heel-toe operation uncomfortable and lacking in smoothness, as it gets in the way of leg movement for every downshift.

I tried them in the M3 before ordering my G87, didn't work well for me. As a seat position comparison I'm strapped in in my Caterham in a tight harness with no ability to move in the seat, I use the same leg position there with my left knee almost touching the side of the narrow footwell and right knee over the centre line of the seat, below the centre of the steering wheel and just about touching the left knee.

I may be a case of 'padding' in the legs, mine are all bone and muscle with the tendons behind my knee dragging on the carbon fibre seat hump in the M3 when I tried out heel-toeing in it.

Hopefully the photos explain better:

Well I picked mine up today and what a great experience. The car turned out as I envisioned and although my patience was tested over several months it was worth the wait and drive.

Speaking of the drive it took every piece of energy not to push it hard especially when hitting the paddles .

Finally after getting on a list almost a year and a half ago and 4 months after getting my allocation, it's been delivered. Oh and I lost the tire lottery and no M clips on the rear calipers. The M4 convertible didn't have the rear caliper clips either which was odd.

Good luck to all waiting, it's worth it.
I just saw the Marine Traffic app on my phone and just started shaking my head. Thought I’d check in on here too. Your car looks good man. Mines still at detail shop so they wait for me continues, but it’ll be tinted and protected when finished. 🤙🏻

After 18 days I am happy to confirm that my m2 was just released to carrier! Hoping for pickup next week. The wait is finally almost over.

Glovis Cardinal bound for Baltimore with week 37 scheduled production vehicle(s)

Hello all!

First time poster, long time lurker on this forum but hoping to share some good news for folks awaiting delivery of their G87s.

My car is currently onboard the Glovis Cardinal which is en route to Baltimore. My status tracker just updated to in transit today, and BMW Genius was able to give me the ship name and an estimated arrival in Baltimore of October 9th.

I also checked on www.marinetraffic.com earlier today and saw the ship was stopped over in Brunswick GA, but as of around 7:30pm Eastern Time it had departed and the next stop was listed as Baltimore with an ETA of 0600 on 10/8.

I'm super excited, needless to say. My order was placed at my local dealer at the end of December last year, and I was first in line in their queue for an allocation. However, they're a smaller dealer and so I didn't actually get an allocation until 7/29 for a week 37 build.

Anybody else who has a vehicle that was in production around that time may want to check on their own status. I was ready for transport on 9/21 to give a bit more timeline context.

Cheers, and best of luck to the rest of you still waiting on their new ride!

Car specs:
Black Sapphire Metallic
Carbon Trim
Carbon Roof
M/T
Lighting package
Black sport seats
Red Calipers
Black wheels

No port installed options
