There are so many reasons that I could guess at as to why he said that to you, but pray tell, and amuse us, which reasons did he list as being amongst the top in making that decision?

I think it's fairly apparent from this thread what type of person the OP is.

Yes - and that last car looks like it's wearing a fucking red tuxedo, that is a terrible combo. Did BMW really say: "yeah this is okay" before releasing it to the owner?

In the hope of being helpful: OP take a look at the for sale section and try to get a grasp of which model years + options are selling for what price. That might give you an idea of what you really need vs want. Keep in mind that within the generation, there were many updates from year to year (CCC to CIC, LCI tails, combos, etc.).

In regards to that 2008 vert you posted up there, are you sure you want a vert? If you don't get a good one, there could be some serious consequences. If not properly taken care of the tops can leak, creak, and malfunction (misalignment). The vert is also much heavier.

Don't just look for the cheapest one, these cars vary greatly along themselves. It's not like buying any other mass produced G.

I agree. Although I love my vert, I don't think it's for OP. It's heavier and there are more potential (very costly) problems. OP needs to do a lot more research. I wish someone local would take him to see some BMWs. I feel like he's getting no help from anyone in person and doesn't take our online advice seriously. Anyone local wanna volunteer to be his big buddy?

Seeing as you can find m3/m4s and even 2013 m5s in the mid 40k range I'd say go for it. financing only 30k would put you around 500$ for 72 months. You should easily be able to afford that living at home or not.

I do like the verts a bit more :/ the other car with the BBK and wheels for 30k has 55k miles and located in FL. I can't see it easily or test drive, so no way of knowing if it has any problems.... so idk....
