Welp... my Sabres shit the fucking bed... totally embarrassing after being in the top 10 for a large portion of the first half.
Wonder what happens with Skinner?! Id say the Sabres blowing the playoffs definitely helps their chances of keeping him for "reasonable money." If it had went the other way, the ball would be in Skinner's court... I say he stays. Cant forget he was raised two hours away... |

Random thoughts...
In the East, looking for Columbus to take the last Playoff spot and be a real contender. Obviously Tampa is the favorite to win the conference and if I were a betting man - Id be right there with them. In the West, hoping Vegas can continue to make waves in the post season. Its amazing what hockey has done to that city and market in general. Looking for a similar happening in Seattle... wonder if they will change the expansion rules this time around since "Vegas had it so easy." |

I don't see Tampa pulling the east. I think they will choke when they get some resistance. I wouldn't hold the Pens down...while they get their ass totally kicked 1 in 10, they can typically pull off the others with wins. Boston on the left...PIT or WAS on the right. I think the metro does it again.
Winnepeg has been too streaky...I see them in conference finals, just don't know if they have enough. My money is on San Jose...if they get their two main guys back in time. |

FLA added to the mathematically eliminated in East. Cbus, Montreal, and Canes fighting for those 7th and 8th spots. Philly technically alive still, but not realistically. The West is wild this year. Every team but LA (sorry!) still mathematically alive! Realistically, Minn and Coyotes fighting for a spot, the rest are basically out. Second season is almost upon us! TW43 saying Caps will try to swim in the White House fountain if they repeat. LOLOL

Pitts is scary again.... turned it on just in time this year. A month ago, it looked like they may actually miss the playoffs for the first time in forever. I'd rather not play them in the first round. Vegas is doing well, but I'm just waiting for them to implode at some point with all of these high-end long-term contracts they have.

CBJ's lifeline is on the line tonight. Probably bigger game for the Habs though, but they're not all in like CBJ.
Assuming the game is on NHLN tonight, this one has my attention. And...much as I think Douche-ane is a solid POS...I'd like to see the rest of them pull it out. CBJ wins, I think they hold the upper hand Habs win, I chuckle a little. Goes to OT, we cry and say that's whats wrong with the NHL. |

Go Sharkies! Tough first round matchup vs Vegas though.
You guys see Florida signed Quenneville? Guess that means the Flyers have to go back to the drawing board on their coach search.

...and lost out on Quenneville. If the McLellan rumors are true, you can just chalk up another 4 years of losing.

Ugh...hate to say it, I think it's Boston's year. F'ing hate Boston, but you can't deny that top line they have. Think Tampa would have a world of hurt with them. See Caps or Pens in the bottom section of that.
West...my money is on the Blues. Going from worst in the NHL in January to 1 point of leading the division...something has got to be said for that. Sharks and Vegas will be an awesome series to watch. Sharks are contenders for sure. Blues vs Bruins final Go Pens.
