The spoiler especially. This is the first M2 in any picture/video I have seen with it. I am glad though as it proves my concern that its not a good fit for the M2 (no pun intended). |

Tires were like new. Brakes ditto. Oil on the dipstick looked very fresh. I only put 8K miles on the car but I believed it would have been ok longer term. No engine noises no "Hemi tick". Car/clutch/transmission all felt nice and tight. Would have kept it forever but unexpectedly had a chance to buy a 2022 BMW 230i and I jumped at it. |

The problem isn't the miles itself, it's the unknown of what was happening within those first miles and what the car is being put through.
Perhaps this is still an unknown science, but I firmly adhere to break-in procedures. I don't think manufacturers put break-in procedures for the hell of it, with many of them adding specific lockouts for RPM's and launch control until a certain interval (not sure if BMW does this or not). Correctly mating mechanical parts gradually makes sense to me, and I would think this is especially important if you plan on beating your car in the future. Regardless, if some random person is out ripping MY brand new $60-70k car on a cold engine, ignoring all the break in requirements, I feel fully justified in bailing on said car. I am not paying the premium to have a potentially damaged or inferior product. Again, we are all free to have our own opinions about break in procedures but for my money I'm not going to play around with it. Will an extra 40-50 miles of potentially ignored break-in procedure driving ruin the car? Maybe not, but that's not something I want to have in the back of my mind. Granted, I'm also the type of person that is mortified if I get a rock chip so kudos to those who enjoy the car and ignore the BS "what ifs" |

But yeah, I will have to live that. I'm going to talk long and hard to them, and inspect the under carriage for any signs, etc. I forgot to mention - the cars journalists drove in Arizona didn't reach break-in miles and they were bombing them. |

But I like your attitude. There are a number of ways a new car -- especially one that has a number of stages from the end of the assembly line to the dealer's showroom floor -- could accumulate miles not all are horrible. Just a bit of a shock to see 70 on the odometer rather than say 7. |

Truthfully, if your vehicle is an HEA or 1st allocation there may be very reasonable logistics reasons for the miles outside of someone just ripping it. Would make sense that it was potentially moved across facilities prior to being released to a carrier, or any number of quality control type reasons. Plus, not sure how many of us on here are really going to keep the car past warranty, so this all may be a moot point at the end of the day. |

I wouldn't sweat those miles. Ask for explanation, yes, but not sweat them. They aren't dealer miles.

My dealer just got their HEAs in yesterday. I stopped by today and saw it in the detailing bay. I was trying not to get in the way of the guy working on another car next to it, so I didn’t stand there forever and soak it in. As an F87 owner (not sweaty, I’ve got a G87 on order), I’m not really sure what my reaction to the new design is. It definitely didn’t strike me immediately the way the last gen did when I first saw it. It’s going to take some getting used to. The first thing that struck me is yes, this car definitely looks bigger all the way around. The lines are interesting. Overall, first impression is it’s a very different car. Not saying that’s a bad thing.
And holy wheel gap Batman. Good lord. |

If it was someone other than my SA I would be more skeptical, but I definitely trust him. And we all know these cars can take a pounding so even if I have something happen soon, it's noted in my file just in case. Also, I was told a DME scan and log can be done if anything happens and I'm willing to let the car sit for a bit at the dealer. Unfortunately this weekend I have some commitments to be made so I'll check back on that option soon anyway. Edit: I'm actually more concerned the car sat in the open for two months at port exposed to the weather. |

Mine was offered to me at MSRP as they have no buyer but will charge 7k over for anyone not on the list.
I love it but not the exact spec I want, I’ll wait for my #1 spot finally be allocated instead of settling for something I didn’t 100% order. |

What were your initial impressions since this is the first time you have seen one in person? Nice E39 540 next to it too! |

I honestly think it looks 100x better in person than in pictures. Sounds good as well! Not a fan of the base model headlights but everything else is pretty sick. The girth is awesome too! This makes me really excited for mine! With some spacers and springs, the stance of the car is going to look great! People are going to do what they did with the G80/82 and talk shit until they see them and then love them.

The eagle has landed. They let me sit inside the car. No test drive until next week. My initial impression, the seats are very soft, the shifter feels the same as my G80 and F87C. The brake pedal sits lower. The clutch pedal fells the same as my G80. I am 6"2 and can't fit in the backseat. My head is hitting the headliner. Less room in the backseat than my F87C. It looks much better in person than in pictures.
