Monaco is fine.

The weekend is more about quali than it is the race. Quali is a blast to watch.

This years race was particularly boring because of the first-lap tire swaps... perhaps they could mandate 2 pit stops or something? Just spice it up so there's more strategy at play during the race since we all know there's no passing.

Also not against getting rid of the Nouvalle chicane for F1 to create passing opportunities.

Agreed, get rid of Nouvalle chicane. Don't know if it would be possible to reconfigure turn 12 a touch to help passing? Plus only use the softs, no two compound requirement.

Andrew Benson mentioned rumours of instead of going under the overpass and turning right into the tunnel, turn left and go around the carpark entry. It would add mere metres, but at this point any help is worth trying.

At the end of the tunnel, where Blvd Louis II ends and Ave Kennedy and Quai des États-Unis begin, if the Principality wants, they could remove a tree or two to extend a DRS zone to the Route de la Piscine. Perhaps even putting a massive braking zone there.

But I reckon it's easier to move the Everest.

Didn't see the race live.

Well-deserved race win for Leclerc. Flawless race weekend. Great job.

Belgian F1 journalist Gaëtan Vigneron told Jacky Ickx during the race the anecdote that Leclerc was asked as a kid what he later wanted to be. Leclerc surprisingly replied: "Kind." During the MC race weekend, Vigneron asked Leclerc if he wasn't sometimes a bit too kind for competitors. Leclerc reassured the journalist that, as soon as he closes his visor, he goes into combat mode.

Yes the race will be a procession but there is still something special about the place. The cars do still look amazing running through the streets.
Look forward to see all the scattered ass walking around. Way more interesting than the race. I’d rather watch all the 20 something smoke shows hoping out of Bugattis/Lambos/Ferraris heading out the night before. Sounds like Max and George would agree with me. Another snooze fest. Their words not mine

Throw 'em all back in to carts for a race. It'd be like a circus, but would actually be fun to watch.

When Drivers can slow down 10 seconds from the normal lap and can expect that they won't get overtaken, as they can in Monaco, that tells you that glamour and social appeal, and not racing, is what keeps it on the calendar.

I'm all for a track like Magny Cours to replace Monaco as it deserves a spot on the racing calendar over a social event.

Stewart-Haas to cease operations at season’s end
In a joint statement issued Tuesday, Tony Stewart and Gene Haas confirmed that Stewart-Haas Racing will cease NASCAR operations at season’s end.
“But the commitment needed to extract maximum performance while providing sustainability is incredibly demanding, and we’ve reached a point in our respective and business lives where it’s time to pass the torch.”
Haas, 71, owns the Haas F1 Team. It fields two Formula 1 entries for Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen.

https://racer.com/2024/05/28/stewart...t-seasons-end/

Will Haas Formula One be next? Interesting the statement that sustainability was part of the issue. The cost of complying with sustainability has got to be staggering. There must be millions of carbon credits being purchased by Formula One teams.

So, I was partially correct, Gene doesn't give a crap about F1 or A$$CAR teams.

SELL to someone who cares

Although Andretti didn't make much of a business case at Indy this year

Dominaceli should pucker up and stop talking nonsense about moving F1 away from Europe, a French GP should be back on the cards.
