Oh man, that sucks. I expect I’ll hear the same. Guess I need to reach out to my SA.

And I secured financing for 30 days with a rate lock that ends Oct 24th due to its expected arrival in Brunswick around Oct 1. (I’m in Atlanta and was told delivery would be 10 days after arrival there.) Damn.

My rate with BMW Financial is supposed to end October 31 so he's going to make some calls to see if we can get that extended due to these unforeseen delays.

I believe the dealerships always give the maximum expected amount of time in delivering the cars/resolve the issues so can we assume it has high chances to be done in about 1-2 weeks time ? especially if its only a software update ?

and what about if it's a hardware issue? do you know the process? like they wait for the part to arrive at the dealership's service, replace it there and then hand over the cars to us ?

never experienced a situation (stop sale) like this before. MY CA didnt notify me of this but now I expect I will be affected too since no call until now to set the pick-up date ...

My understanding is that because I'm doing PCD, my car will get off the boat at the port once it arrives, go to the PCD and be held there until there is a fix because they can do that sort of thing. I think what you described is what happens if you are getting delivery at the dealership.


At this point, I don't think we know whether it's hardware or software though.

yes, hopefully will be 1 or max 2 weeks wait for all ...
Can you also please update us here as well as soon as you have news if its software related or hardware related since it seems your SA is very helpful and customer oriented than mine or others?

New update. It's arrived at the dealer!

15th Jan - Order placed 15th Jan - Initial Build week 14 (Status 112)
15th March - Dropped to build week 16 (Status 112)
9th April - Dropped to build week 20 (Status 111)
29th April - Still week 20, but back to status 112. Also given delivery week 29.
9th May - Back to status 105
20th May - Spoke to my dealer, confirmed my car will now be a MY23. New build week 29 (w/c 18th July).
29th June - status 150
10th Aug - status 153
11th Aug - status 155
17th Aug - status 160
18th Aug - status 165 - Transit from USA to Bremerhaven
7th Sept - status 195
19th Sept - status 193 - arrived at port of entry (Southampton, UK)
28th Sept - status 198 - arrived at dealer. Collecting next week.

So from point of original order to collection will be 265 days

Mine was built early august, so avoided the stop sale. Nothing on the recalls either as far as I know. Cheers

I predict less than 2 months, maybe maximum and hopefully 3-4 weeks but we shall see... they didnt say specific day in November and maybe this should be done by 1st of November. At least is a software specific issue and not hardware one so we dont wait extra for the delivery of any parts, etc.
They didnt even call me yet regarding the arrival of the car at the dealership let alone the stop sale notification. I am going to call them today and see whats the latest status but I am 99% sure now that I am affected by this as well

Been on waiting list for allocation since mid May.
Got the production # today and it looks official that I am now waiting for,an actual car. It’s’ a start !

My dealership wouldn't let my car go to the ppf, tint, and ceramic coating appointment, scheduled Oct 3rd, because of the stop sale so my appointment got pushed back to the next available slot, Nov 7th. Goes without saying I am highly annoyed. Especially since once I drop the car off at the appt, they will have it for about two weeks.

Just hit Production Begins in the portal and had a vin assigned. Parking Assistance package is still listed.
