Same here, I'm old enough to remember when we switched from gallons to litres. They corrected the prices way upward but people thought they were getting a great deal until the tank was full.

Diesel and regular unleaded are on par now, which pisses me off because diesel is usually about 10-15 cents cheaper. $1.46 the other day.

This probably belongs in the "You know you're old" thread but I remember when gas first hit $1.00 a gallon. The old pumps only went up to $0.99. The stations had to charge you by the half gallon until they were able to fix the pumps. What a shit show.

My parents had a home movie with me as a young boy, I'd guess about 4 years old, we were at the Santa Clause Parade in Toronto and there's a gas station in one of the shots and gas was $0.19 a gallon. So around '65.

Where did he say you (or everyone) needs to agree with him?

I for one am glad she is gone, but I also saw her as a blight on the OT based on her posts. Others wouldn't agree with me. And that's ok. I neither expect people to agree with me or care whether they do. Which is why I'm generally of the mindset, live and let live. Though not always.
