Thinking out loud, my brother a couple years ago told me he is buying his neighbors 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 as a winter beater for cheap

160k miles, clean cream puff

We both thought, ya, a 2000 jeep for $2500 that's a steal, the kids could learn on it and no worries driving through bad weather

It's 20 YEARS old, but in our heads any vehicle y2k felt recent almost modern, no we're just old now

Edit: now I know what my uncle's were talking about back in the 90's, cars 20-30 years ago then sounded like ancient history to me but to them it wasn't

Son: what did you want when you was my age?!? 1997 Nissan Max SE 5sp with all it's 190hp… dad got me a 92 Camry SE stick instead, I was still beyond happy, one of the last camrys made in JAP
