I can imagine how the engine must sound with the roof open, the engine sounds more F1 than V8, it so high pitched i luv it..though you cant hear much
else when in the coupe as it should be. Enjoy!
When I was looking at coupes I was specifically looking for one with the factory black painted roof. Very hard option to find but does look great. Probably optioned on less than 3% of the cars out there.

The sound with the top down is awesome even with the stock exhaust. Would love to put an xpipe on it but don’t want to ruin the warranty so I’ll just leave it as is. I’ve already put 150 miles on it in two days, it’s also my current daily driver with the Panamera in the shop.

This may be one of those few times where I downsize the fleet and just enjoy what I have
I have been feeling the same way recently. While I used to obsess over pricing out 6-figure sports cars and owning one, I really lost interest in it and think the experience would ultimately be a let down for me.

I sort of drew a line, I really wanted a 997 GTS but all in was gonna be just under $100K CDN. So I compromised and went with an "S and saved $20K, at times I regret it but mostly glad to have the cash in my pocket.

They are multiplying. I just got a roadster. What an incredible car. So totally different to my MY18 AMR which is totally analogue (which I will always need in my life). This one does smooth cruising while still giving tons of fun feedback, and can go ballistic when asked. What a noise, it’s like an AMG GT mated with my older Aston and had a baby. Steering and ride handling balance is incredibly good. It feels very modern but still raw. Just how I like them

If people knew what these cars cost in Australia they'd have a freakout. Think near double US prices.

I'm pretty much the same. While nearly 50, my love/interest in cars has not waned at all, but what has changed is the type of cars I lust after. While I could afford them, owning a $100k+ sportscar just doesn't do it for me. I like fast cars for sure, but beyond 400hp/3500lbs, you just can't use the power on the street. My M235 is pushing close to 400whp and I rarely take it above 5500rpms and occasionally do a full run in 2nd gear to 7000rpms or lay into 3rd up to 90mph or so.

I love seeing exotics and fast cars and I'm glad they are still around. It's just not for me. My 265hp Cayman has really opened my eyes to what a fun and exciting car is for me. Looking and sounding fast is fast enough for me now

Also, my interest in cars also largely comes from maintaining the cars myself. I absolutely despise having someone else work on my cars. It's not that I think they'll damage the car, it's that I don't like people doing things I'm capable of doing. Same goes for home improvement and other repairs. I want to know/learn how to it. I get enjoyment from that. With a higher end car, it's not as feasible given the complication, electronics integration, risk of damaging something expensive when pulling it apart, etc.

I disagree. I can still enjoy my Hellcat on the street.

With that said, sometimes, it is more fun to drive a slow car fast vs a fast car slow. The Miata is always a hoot to take out

It is called Sabiro Blue. It’s a wild colour, so much blue metallic fleck in the paint.

The rough rule is take US dollar price, double it and that’s the Australian price in Australian dollars. So multiply back by .65 and that’s it.

I did trade my M2CS which I know I will come to regret at some stage.

It’s a good time at the moment to buy. I only pay cash. With high interest rates and a depressed economy you can negotiate.

I’m not trying to be some sort of wanker. Via luck, timing and skill I’m able to realise some dreams without compromising anything.

I only post the pics of the car as I’m an obsessive car nerd and just like to talk about it.

You being an Australian know how much we cringe about this stuff. I’m not trying to be some showboater type. Just excited that I have my dream garage. I keep wandering down to check that it is real.

Sorry if it came across differently.

No not at all, you come across as a legit enthusiast. It is hard not to look like a bit of a wanker there because these cars are so eye wateringly unobtainable. Here, even in Toronto where it's more expensive than the USA, high end cars are far more common.

As an example, my 997.2 Cab is literally DOUBLE the price at home vs what I paid here in Canada, that is INSANE.

Thanks.

Yes fancy cars over here hold their value really well. I guess the climate helps a lot. No salt on roads and you can drive them year ‘round.

Think how nice much nicer your 997 cab would be if you could drive it whenever you wanted.

Having said that just after I got this car we got 6” of rain in 24 hours. I always say washing your car is a rain dance. It seems buying a roadster offends the gods.

UK seems to be the market with the most depreciation. Likely for the reverse of the above.

The old Pacific Hwy is a glorious bit of road. Especially now the huge motorway has taken 90% of the traffic. Absolute bliss.
