Found another seller - black 2008 vert with red int for 27k (maybe). Has 34k miles - looks like they have a nice house etc, so I wouldn't expect them to be scummy and roll back the mileage. Do the 08's have a lot of problems?

I want it to be white. Who wants to drop by and we can wrap it? I'll give you a beer maybe two for helping and a few laughs on me

EDIT: Owners are doctors - they would 100% be clueless about being able to roll back mileage on a car. We are good in that department

You're more likely to get anally violated if you present yourself in such a way.

Take a look at dealers. This things getting on in years, they aren't the type of car that is babied by their owners. Might cost a few bucks more...but a CPO car is better than from a random.

Have you searched for any cars local to you? Might be worth it to reach out to a local forum member in private and have him show/ explain to you what to look for. I'll admit, getting advice from an online forum can only do so much. Seeing/hearing in person can settle some doubts and give you a clearer picture of what to look for.

In general, for you OP, if you really want a vert (E93) consider this:
2011.75+ for CIC nav and LCI will be the best option and probably the most expensive.
2008 M3 will be the cheapest, but if you don't care about LCI tails and the most updated nav then the cost difference is money saved.

If you get lucky, your E93 won't be very costly to maintain, given you don't drive like a hooligan. If you get unlucky, there are numerous things that can go wrong (see rod bearings, throttle actuators, AC evaporator, convertible top malfunction, etc.)

It's really a crapshoot. So take your search off the forums and only come back for advice when you can take it.

Forget giving the OP financial advice, the people spending hundreds of dollars on a single hoodie could use it instead.

Dealers are wanting 34k+ for stuff that has like 80k miles, no thanks.

I'll do some searching, but definitely better to hear stuff in person. I'm really liking this M3 though. I don't particularly care about the taillights, (should I? - can I replace my 08 ones or does that require different wiring etc?) I like to think I'm pretty handy, so I can tackle most maintenance type stuff.

I am nervous about vert top malfunction, as I can only imagine this will be expensive AF to fucking repair. Do 08's have this problem? The owners are doctors, so doubt they really drove the car like a jackass

Idk where you're looking, but I'm finding them listed for $32k-$34k @ ~40,000 miles.

That's just a recommended price. Margins, brah.

And, I do have a plaque.

In regards to that 2008 vert you posted up there, are you sure you want a vert? If you don't get a good one, there could be some serious consequences. If not properly taken care of the tops can leak, creak, and malfunction (misalignment). The vert is also much heavier.

Don't just look for the cheapest one, these cars vary greatly along themselves. It's not like buying any other mass produced G.
I do like the verts a bit more :/ the other car with the BBK and wheels for 30k has 55k miles and located in FL. I can't see it easily or test drive, so no way of knowing if it has any problems.... so idk....

Anyone local wanna volunteer to be his big buddy?

It sounds like to me that you are voluntarily volunteering yourself?
I said someone local. I'm in a whole different country.
I know a member with a black e93 with red interior in your area. Dark_Knight_335 Give the kid some advice!

Strictly red interior - no exceptions unless the car is dirt fucking cheap because a local seller is selling his red interior for 2k, but that's 2k cost added on + labor and shit.

You could easily run the search yourself instead of acting like we should be doing this shit for you.

Well, considering your attitude towards our responses, your indecisiveness early on, as well as the fact that all you seem to be doing is bitching and moaning...the interior (or at least the driver seat) should become red within the month or so.

Don't sass me, ya'll getting too snippy with me now. You guys act like I haven't been looking when I clearly have been if I'm posting shit for ya'll to look at and help a young lad with

One seller already told me he'd rather drive his car off a cliff than sell to me. But I'm glad he did because now I found these doctors selling this other one Interior looks great too, I really want to throw a BBK on it

You're acting like just because they're doctors that the cars condition is good. Their profession has nothing to do with how the car has been treated. While it's possible it hasn't been mechanically hooned, it's possible that the interior wasn't taken care of probably.

My dad is a doctor and his LS460L is mechanically sound, but he could care less about cleaning and condition the interior.

Yeah, where does it say they are doctors anyways? That's weird to put in an ad or did you google them somehow? It seems like something someone would say to BS you.
