Yup. #1. Nothing yet. Dealer is waiting for an allocation. I'm waiting patiently. In no rush to get a car payment.

Same. I was hoping I wasn't the only one seeing that others' dealers are gladly letting them put in orders.

Did we go to the wrong dealerships? I don't know how BMW works the ordering system, but it seems to be a bit erratic? I may be totally wrong, but it would be nice to know we're I stand.

It's all good. We will get our M2's. Need to secure an allocation before the 'order' means anything. It seems some dealers are 'selling' M2's without even having guaranteed allocations. If you are #1 or #2 in line at your dealer I imagine you will get an M2 by the middle of next year. Unless they screw ya and add some crazy ADM and sell to the highest bidder.

I will be happy to get the 2023 M2 in 2023. That's my expectation. I set the bar low. Way low. Due to all the supply/shipping/etc issues.

This really puts things into perspective. Either way, I think it's safe to say that certain dealers know for a fact they'll be getting at least one or two M2s, hence the selling of M2s without guaranteed (but inevitable) allocations to their first in lines.

Any insight as to if and when they would inform a client of an ADM? I shifted my $1,000 from an M240i onto an M2 (#1 in line) but heard no mention of an ADM. I was even told that my credit check, financing, etc. would simply shift over as well to streamline things.

When I put my deposit down in April for allocation #2 on my dealers list I got them to write MSRP deal on the deal sheet (even thought the MSRP was TBD). They were really pushing against it but when I threatened to walk they backed down.

Fast forward to last week my SA texted me and said that actually there would be a $10-15k ADM and there was no way around it. I brought up the signed document and 10-15 minutes later I got a call back saying they could do it at MSRP. According to them the other people in line are paying an ADM since they didn't have MSRP in writing but no way for me to verify that.

Great job. The second part of the task is to ensure that they actually honor your #2 spot.

Perfect! Further proof to always get everything in writing. Legally you do not have a leg to stand on if you provide a deposit and all you get in return is their word. Most CAs are full of it, totally clueless to what is really going on, and will throw your deal under a bus when the opportunity presents itself to put more money in his/her wallet.

BTW, if you have not already done so you should have this Center place your preferred build within the order bank.

Yeah, I'm really glad I got it in writing. My order is in the order bank and my sales guy showed me that it was all in place. Currently I'm the only M2 in there even though there is apparently someone in the #1 allocation spot who is "happily" paying a significant ADM. I'm still a bit worried that I'm going to get shifted down the list if other people come in willing to pay over sticker but nothing I can really do there.

I feel like you’ll get shifted down of others are giving them extra cash

Maybe, I'm somewhat doubtful that they'll have a ton of people willing to pay over sticker when there's plenty of info online about how to find centers charging MSRP. Ultimately as long as I'm able to secure an April or May delivery I'll be pretty happy.

My spec is coming in at $70k. That's almost $20k below my M3C spec; and a few grand more than my M340i spec. Not sure the M2 is large enough to be my only car though.

I was starting to get anxious and called my CA to ask; it appears the dealership had a meeting today and $10K is the likely ADM, but still not confirmed until allocations are solidified.

In your experience with BMW, are ADMs negotiable at all? I was hoping to walk in with $5K in cash and tell them that this is the highest I could possibly go. Or even mentioning that this car being built in Mexico should make it more widely available in comparison to the G8Xs.

Of course they're negotiable. It's all up to the dealer. I'm sure they have long term clients that won't be paying ADM.

First time BMW buyer here so from here until then, I will be gathering as much information as I can to negotiate down a seemingly inevitable ADM.

Just buy out of state imo. ADM is never worth it unless a super special edition. I bought my Blackwing from a dealer out of state site unseen and had it shipped to my house for like $1k and would 100% do it again to save thousands. Almost had to do the same for the M2, but luckily found one BMW dealer in Arizona who isn’t greedy and actually values building a local customer relationship.

I agree, find whatever dealer in the country will give you the best deal, then fly in to the closest airport (or even drive your trade in) and drive it back home. Make an event of it! I guarantee that drive home will be one of the best drives of your life!

There is absolutely no reason to pay adm on G87. They will be cranking these out in Mexico, US market will get priority over EU. BMW's margin will be a lot more selling in US from Mexico.

If you are paying adm...you have a terrible relationship with your dealer and/or you are lazy to shop around.

This isn't a 992 GT3 with a two year+ waiting list.
