But IF they are believing the apparently inaccurate information from their screens they're only going to be sharing false info (unknowingly). We just don't know who or what to believe. I think they know @andydubbya is on holiday so they can use his car as a demo for a couple of weeks! :-)

Has anyone noticed the build date inside the door jam on some of the demo cars. The demo car at my local dealer is Jan23. It’s a 6 month old car already despite just being launched.

Some people waiting for cars had their cars built in early March- early April! Lead times from Mexico are long and their is talk of logistics issues with lorry drivers in MEXICO

There may be some logistics problems, but they aren’t necessarily close to the factory. Our car was produced on 26 Apr, arrived in Canada in mid-May and we took delivery on 10 Jun.

Very odd chat just now with Genius. My car was originally due this week then it switched to last week ( no car delivered last week nor contact from the dealer who’s gone to ground) . Now Genius are saying to contact my dealer as the date in their system is now not valid. I pressed them on what delivery date they had on screen it was this week. Call to the dealer in the morning.

Sorry, do you mean your car got to the show room today? Or that’s what the Genius stated he could see?

Genius saying my delivery date of this week is no longer valid. It was delivery this week. There is no new delivery date on the Genius system. They advised me to contact the Dealer.

As Genius and Dealer have the same information, I’m not sure what my Dealer can say that is different. They will need to talk to BMW UK.

I had a chat this morning, they said again my car’s in Southampton and still meant to be delivered this week too, but no mention of the date not being valid. I haven’t bothered calling my dealer, the whole thing’s a bit shambolic.

Same here only an hour ago. I asked the accuracy of the details as I heard there had been issues, they replied saying, “I assure this data is correct”

And the default Genius answer is to contact your dealer but they're none the wiser when they called me earlier. Apparently my dealer has 13 different cars in the same situation - not just M2s.

Last week online chat said mine was at sea, now it's at port in Veracruz. No wonder the dealership said it's a waiting game. Still supposedly due 3rd week of July. I can't see this happening with an 18 day transit across the pond and another few days or so from Bremmerhaven. It's crazy the car has been built 10 weeks already. I'll be ready to order my next one by time this one arrives.

Dealer called- My car due this week now arriving Southampton w/c 15 July. Excuse given I’d port capacity at Southampton supposedly.

Update of situation from dealer

My car is at Southampton and there’s a manufacturer block on 766 cars and a technical update needs to be performed before the cars are delivered to the dealer

My dealer (good team) is pretty good at giving me reasons for delays and don’t tend to bs

No timeframe but he says it’s being pushed daily

This is likely the airbag control unit upgrade.

Sounds no cars out of Southampton until they are fixed. They can’t get more cars into Southampton until the fixed cars leave.
