Honestly didn't expect to see these nuclear problems, I thought measures would be in place to deal with powering down a reactor without electricity. I hope for everyone's sake, especially the japanese gov't's, that this can be contained.
Apparently GE built the reactors, though I suspect that's like mentioning the architects who designed the WTC, it doesn't really factor in to what's happened. |

This sounds terrible but I should've shorted some of Japan's companies stocks like Toyota which fell 5% today. Any ideas, maybe long TM? And I've been watching the news feeds and it's terrible...

The next Chernobyl. But it could be worse since it's near water.

Cat survives tsunami on a wall.
p.s. I hope it's cool if I post media I see in this thread. Not all of us have time to go looking for these things so I figure may as well use this thread as a place to share info/media like we have been. |

Looking at these tsunami photos. I've seen in person the immediate aftermath of a category 4 hurricane and an EF-4 tornado. Neither of those come close to what these tsunami photos show. The way everything is just obliterated down to piles of sticks, it's unbelievable.

Link to live feed at a train station...pretty creepy, all you hear is the wind and the occasional crow.
