It will not get there by early December. My M2 is "in transit" and should arrive at the dealer between Nov. 29 - Dec. 6. Production date was Oct. 18 week 41.

Google “bmw tracker f12 trick.” There’s a few tutorials on how to do it. Easiest was is to watch a vid. Basically you open Chrome, sign in to the tracker, right click and click inspect element, refresh the page, then there’s a few other steps that are easiest to watch on a vid tutorial to get that status code.

Friends, log in and check the tracker. Last night when I went to bed I was "Ready for Transport". This morning I checked and I am "In Transit"!!! It's a Thanksgiving miracle.
My port is Brunswick. Tomorrow I'll check with my CA and see if they can tell me what ship I'm on.

My car says at the dealership but my SP says it will be there tom morning. Friday morning.
Anyone have any experience with getting a loan with bad credit? With my trade, Im going to need to put another 10k down around. How easy or hard is it to get bought if I am putting down 60k and car is 69. So have to finance little over 10%. Status code is 198 on the tracker.

The idea is that you want to start building your file back up. So in this case, let the dealer tell you what they can do. You will be surprised, cars are a secured loan, so even with bad credit most people can get financed. 20-25 percent down is normally enough to get it done, even with bad credit. Dealers like people with bad credit as they make a lot more on the financing, so they normally have lots of lenders they can work with to get the deal done. I wouldn't tell them that you have 60k to put down. Go in and tell them you want to put down the minimum possible. Don't tell them you are going to pay it off the next month. Read your fine print closely and be sure the loan doesn't have a prepayment penalty (99% do not and some states don't allow penalties on car loans), and be sure it's a simple interest loan. This will all be stated on your truth in lending document. If you don't know what this looks like, DM me and I can share an example. So now let's say you end up with a 45k loan on your credit file and you pay off 35k of it immediately and now you have just 10k left. On your credit file it doesn't show the price of the car, just the amount of the loan. So your credit report will show you had a 45k loan and paid it off. Vs showing you had a 10k loan and paid it off. When you want to get your next car, the banks will give you a lot more credit for that 45k loan than a 10k loan. The biggest determinant in auto loan approvals is the size and track record on previous auto loans. So ideally you start building your track record with big loans that are paid on time and paid off in full. I am not going to lecture about the perils of good and bad credit decisions. But as someone who loves cars and gets in and out of them a lot as I make my way toward my perfect garage, I would say to put some time into educating yourself on credjt building, fico scores, etc. It will pay big dividends. Last tip, if you have bad credit be sure you aren't carrying high interest debt like credit cards. If you are pay those down with the cash and carry a larger car loan. The worst you will end up with the car loan and Horrible credit is around 15-17%, but if you have 25k in credit card debt at 30% interest. You should pay that off instead of the 25k off the car loan. You can also refinance your car loan easily as your credit improves. |

Yeah but I’m just looking to have the smallest payment. I was thinking about financing a larger amount so the PPF would be paid for so it would have to be a $20,000 loan and then I would be putting down 48,000 or so. My trade is valued at 58,000. Car comes out to 69 out the door so I was thinking about doing a 24 month or 36 and at 36 I’ll be at $350 a month which is nothing

I wanted to come here and share my experience with ordering and waiting. I am located around bigger cities like Houston and Austin. I had been in the market for an M2 for some time, and initially, I decided to call some dealerships closest to me in the third week of October in the Houston area. The vast majority mentioned that the wait times, if an allocation was open, ranged from 2-4 months, with some even quoting as high as 12+ months. A few mentioned a 1-4 month wait due to my proximity to Houston near the Galveston port.
I then called dealerships in the Austin area and found one that had a car already on order with specifications close to mine. Consequently, I decided to reserve it on October 25 when it was at the production begins (PB) stage. My advisor mentioned that we could get it by the end of November, but I kept my expectations low. I would often read different answers here and would find myself confused or simply eager to know when mine would arrive. Fast forward to November 21 (27 days later), and I received a call saying that my car had arrived that morning and could be picked up the same day. Due to a busy schedule, I picked it up the next day with a lot of joy and happiness. It was undoubtedly worth the wait, and I love it. To clarify why I am writing this, it's so that if someone in my area is also on the same timeline, this is what they could expect. From overall conversations with some dealerships, it has definitely improved in terms of wait times but can still vary based on certain conditions. The best thing to do is to place an order and then forget about it, so all the excitement comes on delivery day! Timeline: 10/25: Productions begins (place deposit and gets access to online tracker) 10/27: EAS (entering assembly line) 10/30: FA (final assembly) 11/8: RFT (ready for transport. Longest part) 11/14: IT (in transit) 11/16: ATP (at the port. Arrived to Galveston port) 11/21: ATD (at the dealership) hope this help!! |

I have been watching M2_Mike on the spreadsheet since we were around the same time, but it sounded like they may go with the used market. It is also odd that i have moved from “order received” to “scheduled for production” and back a few times now. ETA has shifted from Oct -> Nov -> Jan -> Nov -> Jan. Do they not know how may parts they actually have? Are people stealing the parts? Are there a lot of broken/defective parts related to the carbon package (this one concerns me a bit)? |

Side note, very few people who opted for the wireless charger actually use it. For some reason the wireless chargers in cars are rather useless. Same story in my wife's Audi. The phone gets really hot and barely charges. We have disabled it in the settings and only charge by USB. And with a 6MT in the G87, you're getting the older charger that is in the center console, rather than the newer one that the autos get (which still charges slow and cooks the phone). I hope you enter production soon. Keep us up-to-date.

Congrats on the quick timeline! Maybe it’s just the pic, but it looks like you might be missing the lower radiator guard. You should request that from the dealership if that’s the case.

I'm at the port in Brunswick! It's getting the MP HAS, front carbon fiber intakes, and MP center console installed while it's there and then it's off to the Performance Center.

Update last week is that I am #6 on the waiting list at my dealer. Not sure what that means for timing since they didn't provide a monthly allocation update. My sales guy mentioned there is a toronto red car due to be delivered in December and I could buy that one-- not sure why it is available to me since I'm #6 on the list. I also see a white one that is listed as in their new car inventory.
I have been thinking about making an offer on a used ZF blue M2 that they have had in stock for a few weeks. Their initial price was $66K, and it has dropped to $63,500. The car has had the bumper repainted and some body work done due to a lot kid bumping into a cement wall in their parking ramp. The pictures in the product listing show the damage. The car has since been fixed and it looks really clean in person. The damage was not reported to Carfax. ZF blue isn't my first color choice (I really want a black one) but if I could get a deal on one then I might bite. Need to land on a price where accepting the trade offs of previous damage and not my ideal color would make it worth it. The car listing link is below. https://www.bmwofminnetonka.com/inve...3dm06p8d20353/ Any thoughts on what a fair price would be?
