Hi,

I'm new here, just wanted to share my experience with the order of G87 M2.

I didn't wait for an allocation, just had my build ready and it got ordered the same day.

Ordered on 8/4 - Order sheet said 1 customer sold with a production number assigned and port of exit NYCPOA (dealership is in PA).

9/4 - Production begins.

9/16 - In the final quality check.

Long break here.. Kept checking almost every day with no status updates.

11/2 - Ready for transport.

11/10 - In transit.

11/22 - At the port.

11/30 - At the dealer.

12/2 - Picked up the car.

So about ~4 months from the order to the pickup.

I didn't read through every page of this thread, so I'm sorry if I didn't see specifics on this recently: are some of the port installed accessories out of stock? That's what my CA is telling me.
The rear spoiler has been out of stock for a little while now. I was not able to add it to my build. I had my CA try one more time while the car was in transit but it was still not available. That's the only one I a aware of that is out of stock.

Where did you order? North or South?

Your spec will slant your timeline greatly.

This is random , but anyone know why all of my posts are gone?

"ALL" is pretty dramatic...there were like 5 total posts. But even the ones in this thread are gone.

Just curious to see if other people may know what I may have done or how to fix it.

The only evidence of activity on here for me is that there are posts that replied with a quote for my post, but the post itself and any of my further replies are completely gone.

I even started my own thread to document timing of my order, etc. and that thread is gone too.

Thoughts?

Update... my M2 went into production on 12/7 and will probably get delivery mid or end January.

Was very excited at first until I saw this (
)

Anyone also feeling like they should have waited for these colors to come out? I am seriously thinking about cancelling my order and waiting until these colors are available in the U.S.

If this is the color that you really want more than any other than you wait it out. It would suck to settle on a currently available color then see one of these frozen blue ones in the future and have the feeling of regret.

My wife and I both like that frozen blue color and we had trouble deciding between that and BSM. But after looking at the price and the uncertainty of when that color would be available it just made sense for us to go with BSM.

I thought my car went into production Dec 1st but it's in the production queue and slated to start on Dec 18th. Doing the math my CA thinks the car won't be ready for delivery until February, but could be March if things are slow. Feels like he is sandbagging a little bit. Anyone else in the midwest have an experience to share? The HAS kit will add a few business days to the process and the ship ride to Baltimore is quite the poke.
I'm in the midwest (St. Louis to be specific). My car was week 48 production and has been in "ready for transport" status since Friday 11/24. I also am doing port installed HAS. My CA has indicated that my car should be delivered late Feb or early March.

I am assuming / calculating a $2,000 upcharge for the frozen paint option so yeah its steep

When I was playing around with the builder I recall the frozen colors being $2600

Got it. That seems like a longer wait time then I would have expected but that RFT status time can be so variable so who knows.

Build Timeline

Has anyone gotten Order Received to At Dealership in less than 3 months? Got an allocation in September but delayed production til December to hopefully get in March after winter. It went into production begins status 12/8 and is still in that status. I'm in New Jersey.

My order was accepted on Sept. 30th and it's currently in transit to the dealer. I am expecting to pick mine up this week sometime.

Mine was rather a straightforward spec: Toronto Red, 8AT, base seats, carbon dash, steering warmer, wireless charging, shadowline/LED light upgrade package.

I replied a while back, but my posts all disappeared.

I am being told that same thing. I was looking for the rear spoiler as well. My CA has been checking and has been confirming it's still not available.

Oh well! Thanks for confirming your experience!

Sorry, I replied a while back, but my posts disappeared.

I ended up ordering from Temple.

North told me they were like 16 people deep on the waitlist, and I had already engaged in a conversation with Temple people by the time South got back to me.

I have no clue whether my spec would affect the timeline in either direction, but I DID receive a call from my CA that they received an allocation for my build last Friday.

I don't know what that means exactly for timeline purposes moving forward, but at least it's progress!

I know there are threads on PPF but just bringing it up on this one as we are all in a similar stage of ordering / receiving... who is planning to do a partial or full PPF? Was looking at prices and its insane to me to put $5K-$6K after a $70K purchase

I chose not to as my 9-year old 52K F82 had very few chips when I sold it. Depends on your driving conditions. You need to decide cost/benefit.

I was waivering on whether to do ppf and put if off for a bit. Ended up deciding to go with it and booked an appointment. Sometime between pick up and PPF I got a significant rock chip that cost $950 to fix and repaint. It was jokingly referred to as a bullet hole on these forums. If you plan to keep the car for an extended period I would strongly advocate at least track PPF.

That's all I needed to hear

I would probably think differently if I was back in Colorado. I have now been in Houston 2 years and haven't really gotten any chips on my current car.

Your M2 is looking good, same color as the one I am waiting for - carbon pack?

Ended up finalizing a quote for $3,000 for full front, roof strip, rockers, ceramic coating on whole car, and ceramic tint with an extremely reputable place with a winter discount special. Pretty happy about it. I shopped around for about 5 quotes. Had some as high as $6000-7000 for all of that
