RCC Classic
My G42 is currently in "Ready for Transport" status. I've read some posts about people's status going from ready for transport straight into "In Transit" after finding out from BMW Genius that their car actually got on a ship.
Does anyone have any idea how fast a car can go from the San Luis Potosí plant in central Mexico to the Altamira Port by train? Or have any experience with how long it takes to go from "Ready for Transport" to "Awaiting Carrier Assignment?" I'm hoping my car ends up on the RCC Classic, which is scheduled to arrive in Altamira tomorrow 11/8, and then scheduled to arrive in Brunswick, GA on 11/15. But it's gotta get from the factory to the port obviously. I'm not sure if they travel by truck or by train. A quick google maps search tells me that it's about a 6 hour drive from the factory to the port. All assuming I can even get an allocation on that ship, if it isn't already full of waiting cars. And speaking of that, does anyone here think their car will be on the RCC Classic to Brunswick, GA? |

Can't answer most of your questions, but I went to sleep one night in Ready for transport and woke up to In Transit (on the ship)... I never saw in transit (factory to port) or awaiting carrier assignment. I did sit in ready for transport for 26 painful days.

Yeap, that's exactly what I'm afraid of. If my car doesn't end up on the RCC Classic, it doesn't look like there are any vehicle carriers going from Mexico to Georgia any time soon. So I'll be sitting in ready for transport for who knows how long unfortunately.

Genius thinks the vehicle should be unloaded at port Baltimore today, which is obviously wrong. On port of Jacksonville website, they have an ETD (estimated time of departure) Antwerp at 17:00 today. Still no confirmation on what the next stop will be. Really hope it does leave TODAY, since there is a tropical storm brewing and will be bringing in very high waves for the lower US Atlantic coast in the next couple days. Btw, super fun to be able to track all this. But also kind of stressful knowing how close they'll be cutting it to some bad weather |

I've just been at "Ready for Transport" for 3-4 days now. My port of entry is Galveston in Texas. Does anyone know what ships usually comes or stops there? I have only been seeing east or west coast people.

I am also hoping I get loaded onto this ship as well since I thought the next ship that comes to pick up won't be due in until early December. I was unaware there was another ship, unless this one has a short route and doesn't head up the entire east coast. |

From what I can find, the vehicle carrier Tarifa does service Galveston, but it looks like it pretty much only goes back and forth between Galveston and Belgium. I'm not in the shipping industry so take all that with a grain of salt but I hope it helps a bit. |

If you have to preface an answer with "probably more likely" , "from what I can find", and "take all that with a grain of salt", then I promise, nobody is forcing you to provide an uneducated answer just because. It is less helpful than simply not answering and letting someone else who does know to answer.

"My port of entry is Galveston in Texas. Does anyone know what ships usually comes or stops there?"
They asked "what ships." The only vehicle carrier I could find headed to Galveston was the Tarifa. Right now it's scheduled to arrive in Galveston on 11/12. If you know of any other ships, please let them know. |

See that's the thing. I didn't guess. I did know the answer to the question. The Tarifa is headed to Galveston. "What ships" was the only question asked. Look, I understand you can't help yourself. But DraftKing was right. Let it go, please.
