Because most of this forum is 50 year old dudes with iPhone 5S's that have no clue how to take a basic picture.
The 50 year olds HAVE the money for the iPhone 14 your broke ass has a flip!!! 😜
50 y/o dudes don't buy M2's
Really!!! Actually I was 66 when I bought my new 18' LCI and and now at 70 I just upgraded to 14 Pro, and I am #1 on my dealers list for the G87.

Nice job. Looks fantastic.

Combine these aggressive looks with a much better interior and next-generation drive and you’ve got a winner.

I see BMW has decided to continue their trend of designing only one acceptable end of a vehicle.

Really? Over 3/4 of the M2s in our BMW CCA chapter (which is ALL ABOUT driving fast, twisty roads) are owned by "dudes" over 50, including me. We know what a great handling car is all about

More than likely, in the US, this "base" model is going to have the PDC option tied to an up-charge bundle, named something like the "Executive Package."

Everywhere else, PDC will be an à la carte, single add-on option.

On the mythical "Competition" G87 M2, the PDC feature will follow suit and be a standard feature.

The more I think about it, you may be right. Maybe that's why they tacked them on, so they wouldn't have to make 2 separate bumpers.

Hmmm, I like it. I'd have to sell my M2C and I know in 2024 it will be upgraded again.

I may just do it.

There you go, you just solved the mystery on why the PDC sensors/holder looks like it's an afterthought - it's because BMW wants to be able to save a buck in regions where PDC is not necessary, without having to R&D two separate bumpers to properly accommodate them in the process.

And that's probably not the only area where they're trying to save a dime. Let's not forget that the R&D on EV is all outflow at the moment, and they won't achieve their targeted ROI on EV for a while presumably, so it's the ICE world that takes the hit...

A 9 letter word starting with "In" and ending with "flation"... 62k? 63k? 64k?

And the AUD has taken a hit against the USD so for anyone not in the US, a double whammy.

And that's probably not the only area where they're trying to save a dive. Let's not forget that the R&D on EV is all outflow at the moment, and they won't achieve their targeted ROI on EV for a while presumably, so it's the ICE world that takes the hit...
Don't forget reusing the G42 fenders without designing a bespoke M2 version - that was true blasphemy in the M religion.

The one that really sticks in my craw is the fact that it's a Germany branded vehicle but is assembled in Mexico, hence branded a Mexican made product. So BMW can save on the exorbitant import tax the US charges European countries, since under North American Free Trade Agreement, there is no tariffs on products imported between Mexico, US and Canada. It adds to up $10,000 per vehicle saved, based on the original MSRP.

Smart move on BMW to maximize their profits but maybe they can pass some of that savings along our way or maybe just make the best product they can for what they are truly charging for it.. Yea.. That will be the day.. 😏

USD has shit all over other currencies in the last several months. It's setting a 20 year high every other day.

Given the strength of the dollar, I'd be surprised if this thing started above $61k.

It all depends on how BMW pay for their parts - getting these made in Mexico helps in terms of labour and the FTA but if parts are being sourced in foreign currency, which they most probably are (Europe/Asia) they've lost money on parts and will have to recoup it in USD form, therefore higher pricing. The offset being the savings on labour and export tariffs, but I know in AUD I will be paying considerably more than the M2 1st Gen - hope I'm proven wrong.
