In that case it was also a pretty significant difference. This just seems like a slight tune.

Anyone know if “mineral red” is on any other cars in the lineup? I just ordered Toronto red but interested to know if there is some idea of what this may look like.. and no I’m not cancelling my order as I change cars every year or so.

yeah people are getting way too bent out of shape over a marketing HP bump, the car is already super fast

The paint options should be the main point of contention, crazy how limited the choices have been on a M-car

The M2 already launches poorly, so what's the point of adding more power without adding xdrive? Seems pointless

Colors and power yes. More power means Carbon Ceramics will become available? More power means x-Drive will become available? Doubt it, but who knows with this rumored 600Nm Torque figure figure recently quoted for the 2025MY. My money is on THAT being a typo though....

Agree with Tag though, x-Drive is supposedly coming but I bet it is a couple years in the future.

I wouldn't bet or hold my breath on the base with slightly bumped power getting carbon ceramic option.

BMWBLOG stated that M xDrive will likely arrive around 2026 for the M2.
Thats also when the M2 will receive the full 650 Nm torque upgrade.

also in another news from BMWBLOG, two new individual colors are rumored as well: Twilight Purple and Grigio Telesto.

We reported before that new paint options such as Java Green, Sao Paulo Yellow, Voodoo Blue, Fire Red and Skyscraper Grey are on the list. But according to a new rumor, the 2024/2025. BMW M2 could get the beautiful Twilight Purple and Grigio Telesto colors as well. Of course, it’s likely that these will be treated as special colors or Individual colors, which means a higher price tag. As always, it’s essential to recognize that these plans are subject to change before production and are not set in stone until BMW confirms that.

Beauty colour!!!

But can we talk about how accurate that render looks to be of the upcoming CS model? I didn't love the rear bumper MPP inserts... but I can imagine them using them for the CS model as shown here, and it doesn't look as bad with the CF skirts and such.

I can see this being VERY close to the final CS version, and man it looks pretty!

The rendering is entirely speculative, as stated in the May 2023 article from BMWBlog that the purple rendering was derived from: https://www.bmwblog.com/2023/05/30/2...er-csl-grille/

~470 whp on a rwd car with launch control isn't that difficult to launch, and well below the threshold to "need" awd.

Yes, I totally agree. There are 1000bhp/tonne RWD cars out there. My RWD track car is almost 500bhp/tonne with no launch control and launches quite nicely. The G87 M2 is only 260bhp/tonne.

Yeah thats why the M240i with less HP has a faster 0-60 than the M2 lol.. Also I'm pretty sure the M2 launches in 2nd gear right? Which would mean it has too much power for the grip to launch in 1st.
