I know of a couple in the forum waiting for a ship bound for Galveston. East coast has similar problems I see. Seems like few ships if any with a lot of people waiting at the port. Is it possible for an east coast bound boat to stop in Galveston then continue on?

Out of desperation, I tried the AI again....for what it's worth....
what vehicle carrier or roro ships are scheduled to depart veracruz and stop at port of new york? The following vehicle carrier and RORO ships are scheduled to depart Veracruz, Mexico and stop at the Port of New York in October 2023: Morning Claire (RORO): Departs Veracruz on October 14th and arrives in Port Newark on November 2nd Don Pasquale (RORO): Departs Veracruz on October 21st and arrives in Port Newark on October 30th Morning Lady (RORO): Departs Veracruz on October 23rd and arrives in Port Newark on November 2nd Tomo (RORO): Departs Veracruz on October 28th and arrives in Port Newark on November 5th If it is accurate and BMW uses them, sounds wonderful. But I have no clue. I think these AIs just hallucinate as the Morning Claire is currently in Europe.

My limited understanding is that these chat AIs really just string words together, they don't have a ton of semantic understanding.
My luck with them has been hit or miss so far. |

Glovis Cardinal is docked at Port Jersey as of 6am this morning. I hope those of you without port installs get your cars this upcoming week!
Now that the ship is docked I will have nothing else to obsess over! |

The pattern I see is Veracruz > Altamira > Galveston > Altamira > East Coast

CA messaged me late last night and my car has been released from Port and if everything stays like it is, it is supposed to be picked up tomorrow to go to the dealership!

Ok so I've done some digging last night and this morning.
The Grande Abidjan left Veracruz recently with a schedule that would put it going to some ports up and down the east coast...however according to "importinfo.com" they have never carried any BMWs from what I can see (back to late April this year). They've generally been carrying FCA, GM, and 1 MB cargo. Its not impossible that they COULD be on that boat but doubtful. Similarly, the sunshine ACE which is in port right now (can't find the schedule for) doesn't seem to carry BMWs either. I can only see the last 1 manifest but no new BMWs on there... Minchah which is due in tomorrow in Veracruz, seems to carry GM vehicles Grande Togo (not doing an east coast trip from what I can tell) is mostly honda/gm/fca as well. If I look back at the Glovis Cardinal, it seems the last trip had tons units that were delivered to baltimore and brunswick so it seems fairly reliable... Note: if you want to use importinfo.com its best to either be limited with your searches for manifests (only allows like 3/day or something) or have a VPN and just disconnect and reconnect to a different one () Back to being pessimistic.

Agree. I don’t know why people rave so much about them. ChatGPT was completely useless. Above responses from Bard seem to be relevant, but are in fact inaccurate, I think.

I just ask them now "is my status code showing 165 still or something else?" and "does it say the port that the car is at?". Anything else is fluff.

For others wanting to go down the rabbit hole, here are some helpful links: Assumptions: 1. Port of Loading (POL) is Veracruz -- some people claim that Altamira has shipped cars, but I have not seen actual evidence of this. I have seen BMW promotional info saying they send cars to Veracruz. And I've also read in the forums that cars leave Veracruz, and parts are shipped from Altamira. 2. All vessels that would take our cars will stop and unload at Brunswick and Baltimore. They also stop at Philadelphia, but do not unload BMWs there. Port of Veracruz (vesselfinder): https://www.vesselfinder.com/ports/MXVER001 Brunswick 15 day outlook: https://gaports.com/facilities/port-...ook-brunswick/ Philadelphia schedule: https://www.philaport.com/future-vessel-arrivals/ Sallaum Lines: https://sallaumlines.com/schedules/us-to-west-africa/ Wallenius Wilhelmsen: https://www.walleniuswilhelmsen.com/schedules "K" Line RORO schedules: https://www.klineglobalroro.com/schedules.html MOL ACE: https://www.molace.com/VslVoy/VslVoySchedule/Index NYK line: https://www.nykroro.com/customer/schedules/ Farrell lines: https://www.farrelllines.com/schedules.php Hyundai Glovis: https://stenaglovis.com/customer-centre/schedules/ Hoegh Autoliners: https://www.hoeghautoliners.com/sailing-schedule Eukor: https://www.eukor.com/schedule-search Grimaldi: https://www.gnet.grimaldi-eservice.c...s/sched_nw.htm PWL: https://www.pwl.de/en NMT Shipping: https://www.nmtshipping.com/# Tampa Vessel Schedule: https://portsamericatampa.com/VesselSchedule/Breakbulk Maersk: https://www.maersk.com/schedules/vesselSchedules You can also search for previous shipments by a vessel to see if BMWs were on them: https://www.importinfo.com/vessels *Looking through other threads in the forum, this seems like an unreliable indicator. Here you can see the ship lines that serve the ports: Baltimore: https://mpa.maryland.gov/pages/roro.aspx NY: https://www.panynj.gov/port/en/shipp...logistics.html
The Toronto is interesting because its schedule shows Veracruz (Oct 29), Galveston (Nov 1), Altamira (Nov 4), Brunswick (Nov 9), and Baltimore (Nov 11). The Glovis Sunrise looks interesting because it shows up on the 15 day outlook in Brunswick (Oct 23), and goes down the East coast to Freeport (Oct 27), Jacksonville (Nov 1), Philadelphia (Nov 3), Baltimore (Nov 7) -- but there's no sign of it stopping in Veracruz first, in fact it's due in Baltimore on Oct 18th according to vesselfinder (https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels/details/9702405). The Frontier ACE is interesting because it's going up the east coast now, but going back down to Veracruz on Oct 25, then Brunswick on Oct 31, and then Newark on Nov 3. The Grande Togo is in Veracruz on Oct 17th/18th, and then to Altamira ono Oct 21, and then Baltimore on Oct 28th. I don't see it on the Brunswick 15 day outlook. I agree on Frontier Ace. It does look interesting. Should be in Brunswick this Sunday morning and then coming back around soon after as you mention. That's gotta be a good sign. Toronto I'm not 100% sure about. It seems like its doing some switcheroo when it gets to Altamira from Veracruz according to the WW site. Again any boat our cars can get on I'm up for. |

My CA mentioned my car is being unloaded and going through customs in NJ. It should be assigned to a truck soon. Hopefully I’ll have it some time next week!

It sounds like realistically we will only know when the first one of us hears from the genius or CA that our car is on ship xxxx. Then we can be all over that ship checking schedules and destination ports.

When I chatted with Genius earlier in the week and actually got a good rep he seemed to imply my car could go to either port, and most likely not going to know until on the ship, because Mexico.
I'm watching GLOVIS Sky out of Altamira. It's anchored at Alta right now, and I have no idea on it's destination. Went up to Mobile and Jacksonville last. BUT, It's on the list of the group that BMW contracts with that someone had posted in thread earlier. BTW was 9 days in Final Assembly and 15 now in Ready for Transport. It's rough lol! |
