Installed a set of H&R sport springs.

Drives surprisingly flat and hardly any loss in compliance over bumps.

Wheels incoming next week.

I haven't noticed a huge difference in sound, though it does seem a little louder or maybe a lower tone, what I did notice though was a bit more push in the mid rpm range. The G87 has a pretty damn good mid range punch as is but this really opened it up. Totally worth the minimal cost and minimal effort to install (took 15 minutes).
Should I pony up for the coated one? It’s on my Black Friday list.

I don't think it's worth it that far down the line. Header and downpipe yes. Midpipe gets hot but not that hot. Also don't see the point when the front section isn't ceramic coated.

I'm sure it will be cheap on BF. If it's under $100 difference, go for it. It's an easy mod that keeps temps down under the car while keeping pressure up through the exhaust, get the coating and call it a day, the $100 difference wont break the bank, you're not going to notice it in your account.

Finally, installed the MAD oil cooler skid plate. Love how it came out. What an eventful night it was yesterday!

Realizing now I did not take pictures of the skid plate installed. So here is the pics of the “scrap” OEM parts after the install.

Yeah, crazy! In the past week though I had to take the car out in the early AM when the tires were 38 degrees (I have to park outside….1 car garage). Pretty nervous driving the high performance summer tires when the rubber is that cold.

Plus, I’m hoping this install will inspire Mother Nature to bring us winter and some gorgeous snowfall!

Fixed the exhaust sound on my 2024 M2 manual

I was surprised how quiet my 2024 M2 was compared to my 2019 Mustang Bullitt. I did a few things to greatly improve the M2’s sound while retaining the ability to keep it almost as quiet as stock when needed.

1) Stop the fake interior exhaust sound - This was very annoying, especially with a manual. I disabled ASD using an OBDLink device and the BimmerCode app.

OBDLink CX- https://www.obdlink.com/products/obdlink-cx/

BimmerCode app- https://bimmercode.app/

2) Take control of the exhaust valves – My Mustang has a “track mode” exhaust setting that opens the valves and a quiet mode to fully close the valve. The M2 controls the exhaust valves automatically based on drive modes. However, it never fully opens the valves. I went with the DÄHLer valve controller because it didn't need a separate power supply. It has two modes, fully open or stock. It also allows specifying the default mode to control the loudness of cold starts. I can now clearly hear the difference between Efficient, Sport and Sport Plus when the valves are open.

DÄHLer https://www.daehler-tuning.com/produ...ontroller-bmw/

3) Resonator delete – The final step was to install a Valvetronic Equal length midpipe. The M2 now sounds like I expected it to sound from the factory! Sport Plus with the valves open sounds as raw as my Mustang. The M2 is almost as quiet as stock in Efficient mode with the valve controller is in stock mode.

Vavletronic equal length midpipe- https://valvetronic.com/products/bmw...40638401347620

Installer- Miller Muffler in Lewisville, TX did an excellent job installing the midpipe- https://maps.app.goo.gl/tw8sRp6Q5TPijbaZA
