Totally unrelated, but I just watched Legit Street Cars' latest on YouTube. There's an X6 that's really an M, but has a fake M badge with black / red / yellow stripes . |

Fun fact: when Lotus finally revealed the Federal model of the Elise band in 2004, they didn’t say “L O T U S” on the back at all. There was uproar on the forum at the time and they let us vote whether the back would be blank, have a small Lotus round badge like the front, or the silver lettering (originally raised letters). You see what option won.

The vote came before lotustalk, and in fact it came from before it was renamed from elisetalk. In 2003 and 2004, we used to congregate on a proto-board called Roadfly. There was a guy from Lotus USA named Clyde that was a direct pipeline to the factory guys and he's who took the vote. |

Badge looks real, but something's not right
Spotted at SOVREN Fall Finale at Pacific Raceways today.
P.S. There were also some *epic* 2002 racecars there. There was this one grey one that I only saw in practice, but it was wicked fast. |

Each sticker adds 5 HP and the painted slats nearly 10 (better breathing, you know).

Question. Obviously I find M posers hilarious and love this thread dearly. But recently I’ve found myself wondering if I’m not guilty myself.
I have a base F90 and replaced the silver M5 trunk emblem with the black one (which is otherwise only on competition models). I DID NOT put the “competition” part on. Have I become what I hate most? What’s the crowd say here? |

If you're going to put a fake "M" badge on your car, at least learn where it should go! In the case of the X's, it's an X3 M, not MX3.
Or maybe this guy really wants to be driving a mid '90's Mazda....
