Oct 3: Allocation received
Oct 5: Scheduled for Production

Oct 14: Final assembly
Oct 20: Ready for transport

Nov 4: At the port (Hueneme)

Options I got were:

RWD

Thundernight metallic
Cognac sensatec seats
Aluminum anthracite
Shadowline

Park Assist package
Premium package
Lumbar support
Wireless charging
Drive recorder
Congrats! This timeline is nuts compared to mine. I placed my order (with deposit) on May 28th. Not sure when I got my allocation but was originally scheduled for September 1st-ish production. That got pushed back to November and car is now ready for transport.

I called Genius yesterday and the person I spoke with said that May was the furthest back they had heard of so far. Obviously no choice but to be patient but man, this has gotten frustrating after seeing all the people on this forum who have gotten their cars within 2 or 3 months.

RCC Classic is leaving port without me I wonder if it's even a BMW carrier.

I was really hoping to be on that ship but it's leaving port without me too, which is extra interesting for me because my guy at the dealership was "100% sure" my car would be here next week, and now that's impossible.

It's possible our cars weren't even at the port in Altamira and are actually at the Veracruz port. The next best hope is the Toledo. Scheduled to arrive at Veracruz on November 24th. Then go to Galveston, then Altamira, then on to Brunswick and I think the last stop is Baltimore.

If I don't get on the Toledo...pretty sure I'm not gonna see my car before Christmas. Which blows because I put my order in almost 6 months ago. I won't even see it in 2022 for that matter. It'll be January or February 2023.

I was told I didn't make the vessel for a few days then I was told it was on it. Keep in mind, the vessel left Mexico for 3-5 days until I was confirmed on.

Well that would be amazing. I'll be cautiously optimistic. Throughout this whole process I've been genuinely surprised at how little BMW knows about their vehicle's whereabouts. I mean what if I had ordered a $100,000 M8. They wouldn't even be able to tell me where that is.

At this point I'm really just hoping it's before Christmas.

I was hoping to make the RCC Classic too. I really would like to get my car before Christmas. I was planning on a road trip between Christmas and New Years to get some break in miles on. Sarasota, FL -> Jacksonville Beach, FL -> Savannah, GA -> St. Augustine, FL -> Sarasota.

Btw, I was also told by my guy that he's never known the 2-series to ship out of Altamira. Only Veracruz. I kinda took that with a grain of salt considering Altamira is way closer to the BMW plant. But he obviously may be right.

You would think that the logistics of it all would dictate that they would look at cars coming off the line, see where they are going, and then plan for them to go to a port where the next ship that will have space is scheduled to arrive.

And I guess that's the other thing...maybe there were already 5000 cars at Altamira waiting for a ship. So many variables, so little logistics.

BMW of Bel Air, here. When did you secure your allocation? I had an opportunity for an open allocation at Catonsville some time in August, but ultimately decided to stick with chancing it at Bel Air just to try and stay more local. It's a short drive from the dealership to the shop I'm going to get PPF, tint and ceramic coat done. Didn't want to risk driving the car all the way to Forest Hill from Catonsville before it was protected. Once I take delivery, it's going to be spending the longest week ever at that shop before I can actually bring her home, lol.

I live in Elkridge so Catonsville was the closest. I just walked in and ordered on the Sep 19. Then I'm pretty sure I got lucky with an allocation on the 30th. I think I was originally looking at an allocation in Oct or Nov.

Yeah, roughly the same for me. I'm getting a full front PPF and ceramic done in Columbia. Dealer, shop, and home are all within a ~15 min drive of each other.

I've seen multiple scenarios where Altamira is mentioned when other users are tracking their car. It could be one of two things. Either the car can be shipped to both ports or people are confusing Veracruz with Altamira. Most ships make stops at both ports as well.

I've had my eyes on the ships listed on Sallaum Lines website since I know 100% BMW ships their cars on that line. I was guessing the Glovis Symphony was going to be my ship. Mid-November pick up.

My theory is that BMW used to ship out of Altamira when they moved cars from the factory by truck. Now that they move cars by train, most are going to Veracruz, which is further away, but works better for trains because of the elevation differences

Either way, almost all ships stop at both Veracruz, then Altamira. It's by the time the ship stops at Altamira is when BMW genius realizes it's actually on the ship

My car is at Stevens Creek BMW now. I would hope yours would be on the same truck, unless there were 6+ cars just going to Stevens Creek from the Oxnard VPC.

I'm having my car shipped from Santa Clara to my Utah location. I'll be saving myself ~2.4% in sales tax just by not taking delivery in Cali. For anyone that is ever needing to transport a car, I cannot suggest Intercity Lines enough. Super friendly and reliable. They've transported muscle cars for me in the past, and have been nothing short of spectacular.

Nice - Congratulations! Sounds like you just have one final milestone. Hopefully the shipping company can provide more detailed updates than BMW

Per Genius, my car is still at the Oxnard VPC and was supposed to be loaded on a truck today (11/11), but no further updates yet. As long as I can take delivery by Thanksgiving, I'll be happy!

The earliest date the performance center has that works with my schedule is another month away. For those that have done the PCD, is it worth waiting another MONTH or should I just go get it down there without the full experience.

Wow

My car says in final assembly on the web site. How do you guys know if it is on the boat or not ? Do I have a Genius ? I was hoping I would have my car by end of year (6weeks) But I am not even at port yet let alone assigned to a ship. So this is a bit discouraging.

I picked up a X3 at PCD and it was super cool and they do it right. So would I wait another month for the car...no. With winter coming the drive back may be iffy ect...

Thats my opinion.

Yea it's being delivered on summer tires. Unfortunately, December isn't the time for a road trip to Chicago so I cancelled it.

I absolutely loved the experience and I didn't even get to take my car home because of the stop sale at the time. Any future bmw I will be doing PCD

Cool

Pickles Mr.
Mine is at the end of production 2 days ahead of you. Also my car is shipping to Baltimore so we should be on same boat. Keep us posted when you get info because I will be monitoring your car along with mine.
