I called Genius yesterday and the person I spoke with said that May was the furthest back they had heard of so far. Obviously no choice but to be patient but man, this has gotten frustrating after seeing all the people on this forum who have gotten their cars within 2 or 3 months. |

It's possible our cars weren't even at the port in Altamira and are actually at the Veracruz port. The next best hope is the Toledo. Scheduled to arrive at Veracruz on November 24th. Then go to Galveston, then Altamira, then on to Brunswick and I think the last stop is Baltimore. If I don't get on the Toledo...pretty sure I'm not gonna see my car before Christmas. Which blows because I put my order in almost 6 months ago. I won't even see it in 2022 for that matter. It'll be January or February 2023. |

I was told I didn't make the vessel for a few days then I was told it was on it. Keep in mind, the vessel left Mexico for 3-5 days until I was confirmed on.

You would think that the logistics of it all would dictate that they would look at cars coming off the line, see where they are going, and then plan for them to go to a port where the next ship that will have space is scheduled to arrive. And I guess that's the other thing...maybe there were already 5000 cars at Altamira waiting for a ship. So many variables, so little logistics. Last edited by JayBee83; 11-11-2022 at 09:41 AM.. |

BMW of Bel Air, here. When did you secure your allocation? I had an opportunity for an open allocation at Catonsville some time in August, but ultimately decided to stick with chancing it at Bel Air just to try and stay more local. It's a short drive from the dealership to the shop I'm going to get PPF, tint and ceramic coat done. Didn't want to risk driving the car all the way to Forest Hill from Catonsville before it was protected. Once I take delivery, it's going to be spending the longest week ever at that shop before I can actually bring her home, lol.

Yeah, roughly the same for me. I'm getting a full front PPF and ceramic done in Columbia. Dealer, shop, and home are all within a ~15 min drive of each other. |

I've had my eyes on the ships listed on Sallaum Lines website since I know 100% BMW ships their cars on that line. I was guessing the Glovis Symphony was going to be my ship. Mid-November pick up. |

My theory is that BMW used to ship out of Altamira when they moved cars from the factory by truck. Now that they move cars by train, most are going to Veracruz, which is further away, but works better for trains because of the elevation differences
Either way, almost all ships stop at both Veracruz, then Altamira. It's by the time the ship stops at Altamira is when BMW genius realizes it's actually on the ship |

I'm having my car shipped from Santa Clara to my Utah location. I'll be saving myself ~2.4% in sales tax just by not taking delivery in Cali. For anyone that is ever needing to transport a car, I cannot suggest Intercity Lines enough. Super friendly and reliable. They've transported muscle cars for me in the past, and have been nothing short of spectacular. |

Per Genius, my car is still at the Oxnard VPC and was supposed to be loaded on a truck today (11/11), but no further updates yet. As long as I can take delivery by Thanksgiving, I'll be happy! |

The earliest date the performance center has that works with my schedule is another month away. For those that have done the PCD, is it worth waiting another MONTH or should I just go get it down there without the full experience.

Wow
My car says in final assembly on the web site. How do you guys know if it is on the boat or not ? Do I have a Genius ? I was hoping I would have my car by end of year (6weeks) But I am not even at port yet let alone assigned to a ship. So this is a bit discouraging.
