Unfortunately, gunpowder postal will probably happen. 99% of these toads are so pasty and depressed looking. Sad people that will never find happiness...ever.

it's hard for me to fault the talents of their CFO ... most companies would have went out of business by now if they were ran like Tesla

My dad got an EV rental for our hunting trip in Oklahoma. Probably the worst experience ever.
Closest charger to where we were staying was 20 minutes away. And it was a slow charger so it took 1.5-2hrs to charge the car from 20ish% to 80-100%. Place we stayed at struggles when the AC kicks on, so no charging there either. Until they can significantly improve EV Charging and get chargers everywhere, there is no way this will work. We were an hour outside of OKC basically right off the highway, so rural, but not very rural. Couldnt imagine how much it would suck for someone well off the beaten path in one of the thousands of small rural towns.

First you were pushing the envelope renting a EV in Oklahoma but you got home so it's all good. I can't get this image out of my head. I assume you were deer hunting? The thought of a dead deer strapped to the hood of a EV posted on social media just makes me LMAO. The sounds of Green heads exploding is music to my ears. |

Ngl, eagerly awaiting BMW or Alfa to release a legit sporty EV car. This summer gas is costing me nearly $70 bucks a pop, 4-5 times per month. God damn California.
I love ICE as much as the next guy, it needs to live on for sports cars, but for my commute I can't keep bleeding this much cash. At the moment not a single EV on the market interests me. Bunch of appliances and boats. Hopefully things improve.

What could possibly go wrong?
Nikola trucks can’t stop catching fire as 4th fire occurs Sep 8 2023 Another Nikola truck has caught on fire in Phoenix today. It is the fourth fire incident involving Nikola trucks in just a few months – yet the company insists they are safe to drive. That’s quite a problem when there are only about 200 vehicles on the road. The recall notice asks owners to leave the car outside to “get better connectivity for over-the-air updates” and not because the vehicles are at risk of catching on fire: https://electrek.co/2023/09/08/nikol...hing-fire-4th/ |

At least two Tesla owners experienced their EV go ablaze after being completely submerged in salt water after wicked weather and extreme tides from Hurricane Idalia rocked the Sunshine State at the end of August, according to Fox 13 News.
McLynas wrote in the post description that the driver was towing the flooded Tesla from a storm-ravaged home when the car had begun flaming. In order to protect the tow truck from the hellfire, the driver unloaded the car at an intersection near Park Boulevard and 65th Way. Here, local firefighters labored to put out the fire, “but it kept reigniting,” according to the post. “After several attempts to put it out, they just let it burn out. This was all that was left.” |

The market sales data indicate the popular choice for most people is purchase of a utilitarian vehicle based on price and class size matched to use case. Using 2022 sales data and taking out the top 3 best-selling vehicles (1) Ford F-series, (2) Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra, and (3) the RAM pick up, the next five best-selling vehicles are the RAV4 (399,941), Camry (295,201), CR-V (238,155), Tacoma (237,323), and the Model Y (231,400 - estimated). The Model 3 comes in at a distant 15th at 198,200 units - again ESTIMATED. Buyers of the Model 3 and Model Y don't cross shop the Camry and RAV4? Then where do the Tesla buyers come from? Of course, they come from Toyota and Honda. Numerous pro-EV articles tout the Model Y as the canary-in-the-coal mine that ICE sales are dying. LOL, the RAV4 absolutely blows away the Model Y in sales volume by nearly 73% (168,500 units). The Camry beats the Model 3 by nearly 50% (97,000 units). Telsa has the best charging network for EVs yet the sales numbers show ICE clearly is the preferred automotive choice. The Toyotas and Tesla are well established models, so nothing to infer about new tech, blah, blah, blah. EV has a 100-day supply inventory and ICE has a 53-day supply at the moment. It's clear, the market really doesn't want EV.

This is the point. On a business trip where time is at a premium, the last thing a business traveler wants to do is go find a frickin charger in an unfamiliar location and sit there for an hour to recharge.

My first race car was a Corolla 1600 in C Sedan, That got me though drivers school and my first regional but I rolled it in my second regional. Off to the salvage yard it went along with my racing dreams. So yes the Corolla has been around for more than 50 years, more than 46 million Toyota Corolla vehicles have been sold, according to Autoevolution. There are a lot of folks that only need or want a cheap, dependable ride. Wouldn't the world be a boring place if those people were the majority. |
