My grandfather used to say that the draft lottery was the only time that he ever won. First group drafted, and wound up spending the war building a boot camp and training subsequent groups of draftees.....

Right on. We made our own skateboards as well, including the "X" shaped jobbies that we sat on and tried not to wear the heals off our shoes while booking down the sidewalk hill.
