+1, This really bugs me, why do people have to make a statement by throwing weights around. Dumbest thing ever... Makes we want to throw them around, have gotten into it with people for this one reason.

when your working with 100lb dumbbells it's going to make some noise. Slamming no, but it's going to plunk and that's okay. Agreed that dropping the weight from anything higher than a foot is going to be loud and sometimes obnoxious.

Marty Galagher ( look him up ) told stories of the owners of gyms dragging people out by their ears if they dropped weights like after dumbell bench/incline and things like that.

Been working out at a crossfit gym for the past couple months, and I gotta tell you I LOVE the feeling of dropping weights.

Sure there is a time when control from start to finish is a must and will help you build greater strength.

But when you've reached your limit and are trying to power through a bunch of sets, it feels so good just to let the weight fall and then gather yourself for the next rep

Not going to lie, I kinda like the sound it makes when my solo wireless are on. It's almost like it is falling on the floor of a distant galaxy. #noisecancellation

You know what they say over there, it is a "no intimidation" zone. You seen the video of the guy who went off and threw the dumbbell at the mirror on his way out?

Oh shit did they really? I've never had a membership there, but I've seen the obese members eating pizza while on the elliptical and what not.

Do they allow like, free guest passes? I guess she has a membership and he rolled?

LMAO no squat racks! I suppose you can't hold the bar and a slice of pizza, then? They need to get more creative over there!

Well Smith's aren't terrible, but even at PF probably only about <10% of the membership would actually use them.

Usually at gyms most people are on the cardio machines anyway.

And the few braves ones occasionally dare to venture into the weight area.
