That’s awesome. My mum and dad are both 68, and just got their G82 M4 with the carbon buckets

It looks like two eyes (headlights), chubby cheeks (weird fat protrusions), smile line where the trunk ends and teeth (exhaust). I can't unsee it.

On a serious note, did they really make the front parking sensors just a giant black plastic board that protrudes past the front bumper?
It's getting harder to tell which end of a BMW is the front or back…

Maybe the design trajectory is a supply chain issue? 😜

Why though? What's so terrible about it?
Have you driven a car with a giant screen (teslas comes to mind). It's just distracting and the functions of things like turning on your a/c is all digitized. The speedometer isn't in the normal spot. The bmw screen looks like it was an afterthought and not integrated into the design well. Can you imagine if the screen cracks? What do you do then? Also, what if it starts to malfunction? What happens?

I prefer the F87 m2 cockpit. It's soooo good!
I own a Tesla and definitely agree that the road needs to be the priority not the interaction with the infotainment system

If the driver cannot laser focus on the road while multitasking, the chance of failure is eminent

From months to weeks to days we are now down to hours.... think I'll go for the M3 comp if I'm put off the M2.. bit more $ but worth it I reckon and can't fathom the M5 comp price wise..

This design appears foolish and unattractive to me, but I'd be surprised we ever see a manufacturer incentive employed to move them.
Who knows if BMW takes this direction intentionally in order for its customers to adopt for the next generation that would come , as we all know electric cars have that ''back to the future" styling. Maybe this generation is intentional for a smoother transition to the next one ! I am wondering how the next one will be.. Maybe 2030 is the "Neue Klasse'' era , and it seems that we re heading towards it with these designs..

Weren't we saying midnight Europe time? It's 10am in Germany so 14 hours from now? Or is it morning Germany time?

outside of the bumpers, looks like the rest of the car shares the same body panels as the normal 2 series ... I guess it makes them less expensive but it's sad for the M buyer... not even an M2 logo on the side like all other M cars.

Nope, the fenders are also much wider than on the normal 2 series. Only the doors, hood and trunk lid are shared bodyparts.

I bet that someone at BMW has decided secretly to go back to boxy style BMWs (listing to Doug Demuro and others going "cool, BOXY design") but forgot to tell the rest of the design team.

So in a generation or so we gonna get some very boxing looking BMW where everyone gonna love them. They'll be boxy as hell, inside (screens) and outside (bumpers and lights).

But this transformation process from pretty much flame surfacing to smooth surfacing to blocky is gonna be PAINFUL!

Don't blame the poor Mexicans. This is design from Germany. I think the gas shortage has starved oxygen to their design facilities.

I've decided to ignore these pictures and wait to see the release and the car in person. I thought the M3/M4 was a terrible design and now I own a 2021 BSM manual M4 and absolutely love the car.

I think BMW must have the least photogenic cars of all the manufacturers.

I hear ya.
So far the back looks best in red camo IMO. Hoping black will look good.
Is it just me, or is there a resemblance here, dumber and bumper!?
