Got a good interior detail done today, conditioned the leather, decon’d the wheels and restored the hydrophobic properties to the ceramic coating. Since we’re sharing port pics, here’s what I did with mine awhile back ago. Lolz such a silly thing, but I’m happy for this little detail😋

First of all, sorry guys for the music selection not the best, to be honest I didn’t even notice the music, I was concentrated in other things.
Second, I don’t know what kind of Porsche Panamera is. Performance wise very similar but he can only pass when I reached the speed limit. Once I hited the speed limit, I didn’t notice the first time that I was already driving that fast, looked like the car had a problem and was pulling back but then I realized the car was hitting the speed limit 😅. The sensation was that the car had so much power and then suddenly someone put you a cable and pulls you back, I could even feel that on the gforces. I was a bit “disappointed”, my previous X5 M50d, yes a diesel, did the same highway at 256km/h GPS, same Dashcam, 260km/h on dashboard, but I have to say I didn’t notice that pull back reaching the limit. I don’t know how could be the speed limit if was not one at 250, maybe 270? 280? More? Hard to know. Outside temperature was 20 Celsius degrees, tires 37° with 2.9bar all over. Car engine and exhaust are very nice, I don’t know if I would enjoy doing long trips on the Autobahn with a milktek exhaust or kind of. I like the burps the car make, very hearable and you can actually feel them on the seat. Was driving on Sport+, Sport gears, DSC Traccion. Enjoy. 1/6 2/6 3/6 4/6 5/6 6/6 Some fun video as well, very impressive how the back wants to play, bmw did a good job on this XDrive with sport diferencial. Ps: sorry the noise from inside, I had a paper bag dancing 😜 Extra1 Extra2 Here a picture of the X5 hitting 256gps. Ps: now you can notice why I wanted the strobes. Impressive how people drive on the left lane with an empty lane on the right. Or they jumping left taking years to overtake. It’s suppose an overtake has to be done fast and not driving side by side. Anyway, enjoy the videos and I would like your opinions. |

Dial turned over to 20k. Not anything I did to the car specifically, it’s the only car and been really great for commuting to work.

ours is a 3rd car for us so we'll probably hit 20k in 2 years at our current pace, maybe longer. |

It’s stock. I’m new to the car world, and not sure about doing any mods (except cosmetic) while under warranty. And it gives me time to read through this forum. Just so happens I also had oil change the day after. Doing this every 5k miles. Tires at 7mm (Pirelli P zeros) and back pads at 7mm and front at 10mm. Had an alignment done since roads were torn up from the winter rains. No other concerns and doing great.👍

just finished a 1200 mile road trip and averaged 41 - 42 miles per gallon. I'm really, really happy with that.

The mats came with the car, I’m assuming from the M-Sport addition to the 230i. The CA never elaborated that they were anything special that he provided. When the detailer vacuums these it shows up, and it lasts for a few days until my feet disrupt it enough on the drivers side. It’s still faintly there from Friday. I would think if it was just from the vacuum alone it would wear off right away.
Spoke to soon, just checked the detailer adds this touch😋 |

Just turned over 15,000 miles. About 9,000 miles of which have been 3 or 4 road trips, and the reward is a million bugs and grasshoppers.

What did I do to my 2022 G42 M240i Xdrive today?
I drove the crap out of it this morning. I was out at 630am. With the holiday, there were no or very few cars on the road. 60-80MPH through an industrial park and back roads while quickly downshifting 2 gears going into a corner then up 2 and pulling hard coming out, and without any backend movement whatsoever. Manual smanual! Anyone who says the BMW M240i B58 ZF8 Xdrive needs a manual to make it engaging (whatever that means) isn't driving/pushing the car hard enough. You can't time shifts nearly as precisely in a manual as you can with a modern, fast, paddle-shifting auto. The powerful B58, ZF8 auto and BMW's surefooted, RWD biased Xdrive are a very potent combination indeed. After a year of ownership, the car still and always impresses. Bob |
