Alonso is such a Legend!
This is his post race interview. So before the AMR protest and he got his podium back.

But he doesn't even really care.
He now knows that AMR is the runner up team, and that it's up to him to challenge RB. Not Ferrari, not MERC, but Fernando in his AMR
This is the first time I've seen a driver who can't stop smiling even when his podium has been taken away from him

Who would have thought last year when ALO broke the news that he was going from Alpine to Aston Martin, a bottomfeeder team back then.
Being part of such leap in competition must feel awesome. If they continue this pace of improvement, next year they might just actually match RB..

A few years ago Steve Matchett was saying how Jos had a sour reputation at Benetton. ‘Jos the Boss’ was his nickname. Matchett said with a fed up tone.

Congratulations to Pérez, Verstappen and Red Bull. Brilliant weekend.

My thoughts

1. AM is the truth. This is one of the most exciting developments of this era - we finally have a newcomer to the front of the pack and I LOVE IT.
2. Perez deserved that win and he was able to hold the gap to Max to secure his finish.
3. Max was absolutely faster than Sergio. Every single lap taking the fastest lap from Sergio. He was chipping away at the gap but not enough to win the race. Sergio maximized his opportunity and deserves credit here. If Max started in the front, there's no doubt he would be the winner.
4. Lol @ more of the shameless Verstappen hate from fans of drivers like Hamilton/Schumacher/etc who were the same if not worse their entire career.
5. Ferrari not only took a step back against RB, they've apparently took a step back against Merc. I'll say it for the 10000x time, Mattia was not the problem at Ferrari - he was the scapegoat.
6. Oscar Piastri is so ridiculously impressive, he may genuinely have a higher ceiling than Lando.
7. Hulkenberg showed his experienced against Sargeant. Logan was clearly faster but you can see the rookie hesitation against Hulk's racecraft.
8. Williams IS FAST. Logan is doing extremely well but clearly need more time and confidence in the car. This is a whole different picture than what we saw from Latifi.
9. Hope you merc fans are enjoying F1 without Masi
10. Jos doesn't fit the sensitive soyboy profile so of course everyone focuses on a guy who isn't even in F1 because virtue signaling is tough when Lewis is garbage.
11. Russell > Lewis

Everyone hates Max because he was winning and the current world champ, he gets along with everyone on the grid, except Hamilton and Ocon.

Max literally reminds Alonso of his younger self.

Also, with how Jos treated his son growing up, I'm surprised Max is how he is now, that shit ruins children, and they usually don't grow up like how Max does.

There's a reason why the Bottas and Hamilton era worked so well, Bottas knew he was the second driver, he never went against team orders until his final year, and was never a threat to Hamilton. In this case, Perez seriously thinks he can challenge for the WDC, when the last year, Max outdrove him. Bahrain was the same thing, he was 11 seconds behind by the end of the race, I also expect him to be the same on normal circuits. Unless Max has issues every qualifications that sets him in the back of the grid, Max will outdrive Checo any track.

MAX was yesterday a lot better than Checo .

Would love to see it , if Checo could make it from P15 to P2 with driveshaft issues and vibrations in the car .
No way !
And BTW : MAX was stuck behind RUS , because RUS was closing his doors .
Sure. That's also racing , but MAX lost there 4 sec. while Checo was pushing really hard , and it was right there that MAX lost (his)! the race .

In other words : If MAX wasn't stuck behind RUS , Checo would see very quickly MAX in his mirrors .
Once in his mirrors , MAX would get his DRS and this means bye-bye Checo .
I can't wait to see a rain race like Suzuka 2022 ! You know what I mean ...

OC. I agree , Checo ran a great race .

Jos 'the boss' is a nickname the dutch fans gave him. (just like he had the nickname "grindbakridder" which loosely translates to "gravelpit knight"...a not so positive nickname...)

I don't know if Jos had a sour reputation at Benneton, but fact of the matter is he stayed very close friends with Michael Schumacher (Max has referred to Michael Schumacher as "uncle Michael' when he was little, both families even went on vacation with eachother), so that sour reputation didn't extend to the driver that gave Benetton their two WDC's.

It's pointless saying I'm looking forward to the Albert Park race and being a Max RB fan I want to see a comparison between Checo and Max with both their cars on song.
Red Bull being this strong also highlights how everyone else got the new regulations so wrong or still don’t fully understand it.

The dominance will be like Mercedes but amplified because no other manufacturer is close with their cars. If you thought the Mercedes years were a snooze fest, Red Bull at this pace is going to be even worse.

Mate . That's a spot on !

I watched the whole race with a top quality Bowers&Wilkins headphone.
Well ..I heard the strange noise very clear and thought WOW ! WTF is that ?
The only thing I could think about was a DNF for MAX at anytime !

Glad we got through the race with no crashes!

Max just on another planet, other cars look like they’re going backwards hen he’s around. Amazing to see but bad for the sport overall, how can the other teams have lost so much ground in just a few months? I know Newey is a genius but good grief.

Best news I *think* I heard during the broadcast yesterday (F1 TV) is that they’re removing the final chicane at Barcelona? Is this true and they’re going back to how the track used to be setup? If so, BRAVO! Adding that chicane was the dumbest track change I’ve ever seen. Getting rid of it should help massively with passing!!

The secret of the RB19 is 'INTO the floor .

#VenturiTunnels => https://flowracers.com/blog/what-are...tunnels-in-f1/

I bet, Wolff would crawl through the RB19 Venturi tunnels to see what's going on !

We don't know what's gonna happen in the future. We see with AMR that with the cost cap and limited windtunnel/simulation times etc apparently any team can make huge leaps in a year, and that it's not the historical teams with huge budgets that dominate.
For sure RB was one of those teams, but now it's definately talent that produces good cars, not unlimited budget, because those are gone
So who knows a team like Williams might be the 3rd team next year
These cost caps make for a much more competitive sport where true talent is more rewarded, and being #1 is a more deserved title from a sportive POV

I hope that with these cost caps, it's more appealing for other manufacturers to enter F1.
Especially in the engine department. Luckily VAG and Ford will enter in 3 years, but I'd love to see some more like BMW and maybe Honda making a comeback.

The average margin of victory for the W05 was around 20 or 23 seconds.

The RB19 in 2 races so far has already exceeded that I think. Will have to check what the RB18 did last year but I don’t think HAM comments were an overreaction, it might actually be true. We’ll have to see what the RB19 does over the course of the season but right now, they look untouchable.

Like I said in my previous comments, RB absolutely nailed the RB19 to fit the current rules and regulations, everyone still trying to figure it out along with other problems.

Isn’t that what Red Bull did in Bahrain? I know it was just one race but this leads me to believe Red Bull has so much more they can extract out of the RB19. If not aero, then the powerunit alone. Reminds you like another team, no? Hahahaha
