I found it interesting that his house, which appears to be very modern, huge, with a great garage and expensive cars looks out of place in the otherwise modest neighborhood.

But if you have no issues and you've got 10" (I think?) wide wheels on 285's and they're okay, I may consider doing this! |

Rubbing with aggressive front wheels/tires
I'm running 285/35s on 19x9.5+5s. I went with the very expensive IND "enhanced clearance front liners," because back in 5/24 when I got my wheels there weren't other options, and I'm still getting a little rubbing. It's actually rubbing on the ridge on the liner near the opening, not on the mesh. I tried to bend it with a heat gun before to no avail. I may have to just cut that area out.

a little road trip
Took the M2 on a day trip yesterday - 668 miles. 26mpg average, not too bad.
Still on stock suspension, the M2 made for an enjoyable cruiser. Was no more fatigued from this trip than in others of similar distance and duration. Working on figuring out a conservative lowering strategy that won't change that... Got to enjoy part of the scenic US 71 loop as well. https://www.arkansas.com/scenic-71-loop Very nice drive, nice views - no pics, unfortunately. Solo journey didn't help with that. I think I may have learned a little something about ACC - BMW seems to want to dissuade us from using the turn signal. At least on my car as I recall experiencing it, engaging the turn signal while ACC is actively reducing speed due a vehicle ahead caused the system to accelerate back to the set speed. I looked back at the Owner's Manual and still can't seem to find any reference to this behavior. Just a word of warning... will probably cross-post in the "discover" thread once I reproduce this behavior... Last edited by Jonesing4a2; 02-02-2025 at 01:33 PM.. Reason: clarity |

We drive BMWs - we’re not SUPPOSED to use the turn-signal.

I mean if you’re signaling to change lanes because someone is slow ACC would already be slowing. And when you get in the other lane it should speed back up once you’re centered. |

Finally finished the mods for the Alpha N Class 3 front lip/splitter install. It feels much more rigid than before, but there is still more flex than I would prefer.
Ordered some 13mm M6 threaded hex standoffs from McMaster. Shortened them a tad on a lathe, fitted everything, and had the hexes welded to the OEM lower bumper beam/bar. No other mods needed other than cutting some holes in the two lower side splash shields. Removed the plastic clip on nuts from the splash guards/lower cladding and the holes lined up perfectly. I did make some small cuts in the far right and left side lower cladding pieces so I could reach the two horizontal bolts on the Alpha N frame mount. Otherwise you have to install the Alpha N frame first and finagle the side splash guards in place. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pics of the lower splash shields, but I will soon. Also installed Endless MX72 brake pads, Alpha N aeroblades, and AliExpress front brake rotor shields. ![]() |

Which parts?
For the pieces I welded to the bar, I attached a screenshot of the parts. The Alpha N parts came from IND. Attached a screenshot of the front brake rotor shields. |

Got a set of 3D Maxspider Kagu floor mats. I wasn’t thrilled about the emblem so I painted the faces black.
They fit very well. Only draw back is that they get dusty easily. But I think they look good and seal off the under carpet very well.

I took this photo for my IG story, but didn't actually take one to post here. I guess I don't need to explain what I did.

Installed the Zunsport radiator and intercooler guards. Left off the brake ducting guards for now and then went for a drive. I hate wintertime, I cannot ever keep the car clean unless it’s just parked, even 1 mile of driving and it looks horrible again.

Today I installed M2 puddle lights from Open Throttle. Nice price, easy install, and they look sharp and bright.

DO NOT WORK UNDER A CAR SUPPORTED ONLY BY A JACK!!!! (like the guy in the video is doing) Put a jackstand, block, tire or something under the car so when the jack fails, a body part won't be crushed. Yes, jacks fail. |
