They definitely make more money. Their willingness depends on the overall demand for the car. I was able to get a pretty good discount on the 2017 Jaguar F-Type that I ordered. In general though, dealers definitely seem to be more willing to negotiate on price when a car is sitting on their lot costing them money.

Higher volume dealers of certain brands do this. We were able to order a '23 Grand Cherokee for 4% below invoice ($7k off MSRP), but vehicles on the lot were MSRP.

I've been tracking 2024 M2s at 6 local dealerships to me. I live in Orange County CA.
Irvine BMW, Crevier, Buena Park, Murrieta, Ontario dealerships I have an excel sheet with their M2s on lot. These dealerships have about 15 M2s combined sitting on lot. Irvine BMW just sold a white one priced at 68k. No movement on the other 14 M2s. No ones buying right now.

In Los Angeles only Nick Alexanders had any M2s on the lot. They are asking ADMs on them.

I played hardball and shopped around, leveraging dealership quotes….first dealership offered me msrp on ‘25 build with 7% financing…. Second dealer I made the offer first, 10% off msrp @ 6%….after some back and forth settled on $2300 off msrp, but they through in one of those stupid $1k paint protection mark ups… I battle them more on the interest rate, numbers etc….he said what has to happen to make a deal.. I said take off the stupid $1k, he said ok, deal. Currently in the queue, waiting impatiently for my San Paolo yellow model.

With the impending FED rate cuts for this month and December there should be a trickle down effect for those who are financing their purchases. I would try and take advantage with those financial institutions offering the best rates.
Best rates! If you qualify. |

I wish there was a Navy Federal for non-military. Pen Fed is advertising "as low as" 5.59% but even with a middle FICO Auto Score of 781 I'm getting the pre-approval returned for 7.24%. I'll take BMW in-house financing over that garbage.

I bought a 6-month bank CD yesterday at 5.1% APY, so getting within a couple of points is probably the best you're going to be able to do if you borrow. The best you're going to be able to do is save your money and pay cash because you'll be earning interest instead of paying it, but that's a whole different topic.

Is that specifically for an M2, or is that on a general rates page? I know they offer different incentive deals on different makes and right now I'm being told that the they aren't going that low on the M2. I asked about that after seeing 4.99% on Truecar and was told it wasn't available. I would love to bring evidence to the contrary.

Point me to where I can get 2025
I thought I had a deal secured but then the bill of sale or whatever had a $1500 protection package on it. Said we wont budge because other dealers are selling over MSRP. Last edited by curtdragon; Yesterday at 10:46 AM.. |

I'm in Dallas and have a local dealer offering me $1,000 off MSRP with no dealer add ons as well as another offering $500 off MSRP with no add ons. This would be for a Twilight Purple allocation. Should I take the $1,000 off or keep hunting for better?
