that is correct with HEA. My G80 MT was a HEA.

I talked privately with Mhrob24 and we confirmed its two completely separate dealers both telling us the same thing so it seems to be a legit BMW program. So now it's just a question if I want to take this option and lock in when I get the car or hope I can an allocation in the next month or two and get the car slightly sooner. |

My dealer didn't say anything when we were talking allocation.
They have a current allocation but the guy that has it can't make up his mind on color. The next allocation is mine and they expect to have it at the begining of August. They are an M dealer and had a M4 and M8 on the floor. They had a couple of XM Red that sold. They also have an i5 M60 and i4 M50 on the floor. Their lot is completely full of cars. They always have at least one M car for sale.

I probably wouldn't bother with that allocation without a considerable discount. Knowing your car is stuck in the showroom for two months getting wiped on inside and out is some kind of humiliation ritual. Even if you assume each and every salesperson will keep it locked 100% of the time for two months, it's still not worth dealing with that.

I do think if someone at a dealership is in line for an allocation with an order waiting in the system it should go to them immediately though, and then once there is nobody in line waiting you could give those dealers an allocation for a display car. |

My dealer is an M dealer. Expects to get at least a few M2 allocations a month once things get rolling. I remember COVID when they had few cars and now they have 100+ cars available. I think they have a few MY24 arriving soon. Pretty much nowhere for customers to park.

It’s available for M Certified dealerships only, and it’s an optional program that those dealers can choose to opt in for. Basically it states that qualified dealers may choose to receive 1 extra allocation for an M2 and 1 for an M3, they must be individual, and they must be put on display for a specified period of time before retailing. Participating dealers will also be required to upload photos of the car(s) in their showroom as proof that they’re being displayed. I recall the minimum hold time being more than 60 days, but I am double check the bulletin when I get to work today. |

I can’t share the entire bulletin here, but I’ll write a breakdown of it for you.
2024 BMW M Showroom Collection Participating centers are eligible to receive allocation for 1x M2 and 1x M3 for the main purpose of showcasing the M Brand within the store location and beyond. Requirements
Program allocation is separate of recurring wholesale. Units will be excluded from inventory for allocation. Production will be planned for the months of October & November 2024. To summarize, it must be individual, it should be held at the dealership for 4 months, and production is planned for October at the earliest, so we should expect these vehicles to arrive at dealerships no earlier than late-November or December. If your dealer is suggesting that taking their showroom vehicle will result in a sooner delivery than just waiting for a normal allocation, I would advise against it. |

I find it interesting then that they were not crystal clear up front that you could reserve their BMW advertising model. That kind of statement would have been much clearer than their original approach.
All in all sounds legit. So long as you don't mind waiting 60 days to take possession. Might be better than waiting for them to get their next allocation, build it and receive it. Deal in paint correction and ceramic coating AFTER the display period to get rid of touch scratches.

I’ve got my CA double checking the bulletin now, because yes, he told me 60 days, and ANY spec I want (does not have to be individual). The dealer I’m going through isn’t M-certified either, so I’d bet there is a different program for non M-certified dealers.

When I got on the 2025 M2 waiting list, my dealer had 10 people ahead of me. They didn't require a deposit to get on the list, so I figured that I would move up the list. When my sales representative called me, I took a week to get over to the dealership because I was busy. I got the 3rd allocation and received the VIN in a little over a week. Another guy got the 4th allocation I got mine. I was surprised at how many people passed on the opportunity, but my bet is that the dealerships factor this kind of thing in when they maintain their waiting lists. If people had to put money down, the list would certainly have been much shorter.

[QUOTE=Mavericks0041;31319386]Yeah plus my dealer indicated it would be a September build and not October or November, if it was an October or November build then that has basically no chance to get us the cars sooner than just waiting for a normal allocation.
But please let us know what they say when you hear back. Alright everyone, so it turns out my dealer IS M-certified, and this is what my CA said: - You actually DO have to choose individual paint - The time frame in the showroom is RECOMMENDED to be 4 months, not required. He told me he spoke to a BMW rep and they told him the requirement is a minimum of 60 days - This allocation is a special allocation that doesn’t count toward the “regularly scheduled” allocations that any one dealer gets. So for example he told me they typically receive 3-4 m2 allocations per year, and this allocation doesn’t count toward that. So they are more than likely getting another allocation very soon. I ultimately decided to wait and take the next allocation. I hope this helps. |

I'm leaning towards just waiting as well. Even if my dealership didn't get an allocation until October or November it probably still works to a similar time frame of when I would actually get the car, and then there also isn't the stress of having to worry about other people potentially touching or sitting in the car. |

Cars are already specced and they started dropping into the DAR in status 102. If a M Certified dealer has not yet specced theirs, they have until July 22 to do so.
Cars will be punched (retailed) as Type Z demonstrators

Type Z is a demonstrator (executive), so the car's warranty and maintenance plan will start when it's punched but can be sold as new with all the programs (if any on the M2/M3)

Ok if that's the case it seems I'm better off waiting for a normal allocation, and by 'the car's warranty and maintenance plan will start when it's punched' do you mean the warranty and maintenance would start before the customer actually took the car home?

just like any other demo or ex-loaner vehicle. Clock starts when it's punched, but then car is also discounted. So plusses and minuses.

To be clear, the dealers price is discounted, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they will offer a discount to the consumer, that will vary by dealer I’m sure.
