Now remote start isn't working. I would imagine it is because the App is still trying to install the update ......hopefully

Need to go into setting and turn it back on. In Climate I think.

It’s been turned off with each update, has been my experience. This time the “hey BMW” and CarPlay didn’t need to be reset.

Seems like a maintenance update with no actual feature enhancements / noticeable changes. Release notes seem to indicate this too.

It was turned off in Climate Settings. Thank you , I would have been waiting forever for the stupid App to stop trying to update

" Let's update the iDrive system. But we won't add any cool new features or make any obvious improvements. Also, let's disable some of the system settings and features that are already active and in use. Maybe we'll get a bunch of people visiting the dealerships who are trying to figure out what went wrong. "

Siri still worked for me -although I generally use voice control rather than the long press anyway.

The idrive didn’t disable anything for me and I have some coded items. Seems most of the disable items are self coded items so you can’t blame BMW for that.

Definitely not mad about all the BimmerCode being reset. It's smart for an update to make sure everything is back to normal and working, when all the programming is sent.

But had I not known about Remote Start being shut off in climate control , I would have thought that I had an issue or malfunction. And if I was too dumb to figure it out, I might have made a trip to the dealership.

So not really bitching about BMW .... just a bit of harmless complaining .

Remote start was turned off for me again, following this mystery update.

And 3 days later the app is still showing that an update is pending, and to follow the in car instructions.

I noticed a new “Connected Drive Store” shortcut. And it’s showing an available “Traffic Camera Information” trial / subscription. I don’t recall seeing it before anyway.

We have that in the Uk - annoyingly the same price (£30) in GBP. I trialed it last summer but I bought it discounted on Black Friday so it would also be cheaper if I upgrade in future.

I think in the US you can get a lot of the options enabled e.g. high beam assist via connected drive.

I guess it’s just showing whatever options are available that I don’t currently have a subscription for. My car is fully loaded so there’s a whole pile of subscribed options showing that will expire at the end of year 4 (sometime in 2027).

But is the iDrive store app new as of this more recent update?

Apple Maps displaying in gauge cluster isn’t working again. Let’s see if iOS update (installing 17.4.1 now) fixes it again.

My phone was also not connecting to CarPlay earlier today until a phone reboot this morning fixed it.
