I think BMW gave us their answer by using the same part number across the platform.

Hey I’ll just chime in to keep it easy so no need to DM.
My M Performance HAS kit was installed at port, so thankfully carried under the full warranty. I’ve always just been told (at the dealer as I sell these cars) it’s the exact same as the KW branded kit just different colors, but who knows, maybe they’ve decided to change that tradition for one model. Or maybe that was never true and there’s a slight difference. In reality, you should be 100% fine with either kit, it’s just whichever you prefer. If not getting port installed, which you already have your car, then either get the KW HAS for the lower price or get the M HAS for the colors and the “BMW Stamp of approval” for how little that’s worth. The kit is extremely comfortable daily driving and at the limit to be honest, that’s my experience at the recommended 10mm of drop all around. Either route you go I’d say money well spent. (I’m about to do wheels and tires next, bavsound, bmc filters, camber plates, and rear camber shims for a basic track day setup) |

This video, by the way, is what convinced me this is within my wheelhouse. Just a couple of bolts at the end of the day. The official instructions are more involved than it needs to be.
Perfect winter project where I can do one corner a month.

Hi! Just wanted to jump in, since I am interested in lowering the vehicle. I am interested in springs (not HAS), since I’ll most likely go for coilovers in a second moment. I couldn’t find any springs for the G87 on the official websites (KW,H&R,Eibach,…), so I asked my workshop (which is official distributor for Bilstein and Eibach in my country). He reached out to Eibach and H&R, here the answers:
- Eibach: it will be our project car for the summer, early autumn we should have the product; - H&R: we will try the car in June, so it will still take some more weeks for the development. Seems like Eibach will take longer and H&R most likely will have some springs by July. And I can imagine H&R will also be working on HAS (which Eibach didn’t for the other G8x). Looks like those 2 brands want to do things properly / there are specific needs for this vehicle. KW might have a competitive advantage being working with BMW for some time, but I would not take springs, HAS or coilovers if not specifically developed for that very car. M Performance is OEM, so wouldn’t worry about that 😁 only thing that stops me is the price. |

Great info, thank you! Seems me waiting to see what happens for a winter project is a good idea.

I had already posted...H&R is aware of the front shock failure that has occurred with the lowering springs on the G80/82 and they are back in R&D and testing. Unless they can come out with something like a progressive spring or at least a lowering spring that is proven not to cause shock failure, I will be staying away from them. If I can get the M Performance HAS port installed (with the full warranty), I will go with that. Otherwise I will be going with coilovers. |

M Performance HAS is a safe choice, but I’m not sure it is worth the price. With less than 1.000€ more I can get coilovers (KW V3, once developed), so I would go for that I believe😁. |

I have found some postings of G80 failures with springs from H&R, KW and I believe I recall MSS mentioned as well. Only appears to be fronts. |

Spoke with someone at KW and this was their response to a G87 HAS kit:
"The HAS kit for the G87 should expected be available within the next 1-3 months. Probably the application from the G80 will work, as they share the same platform. But we can first verify this, once we have fitted it to the G87 in house." |

As I stated in multiple previous posts (along with same from H&R), its still in R&D. I know this as the guy who owns the shop that does my work (and my good friend), knows the head of the US operations very well for both companies. For ne, that is why I went with the M Performance Suspension as it is fully warranted by BMW (its also produced by KW's OEM Division which is different than their motorsports division which is what is showing on their website and sold by third party vendors). |

My associate made the call to BMW NA yesterday to request the addition of M suspension to my order, but hasn't heard back from them yet. Did it take a few days for them to get back with your respective associates?
