Not OP and I haven’t installed these on my car YET, but I drove BoilerM’s car (local to my area) who has the Bilsteins and can confirm the thump is gone. He did have the thump before installing. I’ve mentioned this a couple times on the infamous thump thread, but I will definitely be installing these before fall - thump only noticeable in colder weather for me.

They do show a dealer MAP on it at 3199. Dealer discount isnt steller anyway, plus there will be $100 in transaction fee on it. Its a special order item. Shows out of stock at Bilstein. There isnt a massive dealer discount. I wouldnt be surprised to find 100-200 off MAP from a reseller but past that its not worth their time or risk. Id sell ya one for $200 off if it was on a shelf... but no stock no eta.. not even worth looking at for the time being.

Seems like there’s a good opportunity for another company to come out with a set of coilovers with EDC and sell them at a less than astronomical price.

I just picked up a set of these from XLR8 Performance for $3149 shipped. They told me that these ship direct from Bilstein after ordering. Only took about a week and a half to get here. One local shop quoted $1300 plus an alignment for install, should I shop around a bit more?

I had the coilovers including install for 3.500 euros here in Europe but prices must be around the same here. |

Appreciate the feedback! I found another thread with recommended Denver shops, so I'm going to call around today to see if any of them beat that quote. The shop that quoted $1300 is one of the shops listed in that thread, and was recommended to me by a friend who wrenches at the dealer that I picked up my 240 from.

1300 is absolutely insane. Coilovers are so quick to install with a lift. Hell I could do the install with jack stands in my driveway in less than 4 hours taking my time.
Even with an alignment which should be around $100 I wouldn’t ever pay more than 6-700 for an install. |
