Very few cars I've bought did I test drive first, including the 240. I know what I want and if it fits the majority of the reviews then I feel comfortable in my decision. Haven't been disappointed yet.

Probably depends on the size of the adults in the front. But my guess is anyone other than a small child will be comfortable in the back.

I'm 5'8 150 -- did you mean 'will not be comfortable'?

from the videos i've seen.. anyone over 5'7 will hit there head on the ceiling... so it's less about leg room and more about headroom.. and if you think about it.. any time you head is touching something.. you might feel a little closed in

Edit: I'm over 6 foot 200lbs.. i don't think i'll ever even attempt to sit in the back seat

Went with the 240i order cause I thought 5'8 and below adults sitting in the back from time to time would be serviceable (going out to eat with friends and stuff) as I wanted to save approx 10k extra on the similar spec 340i and also because I may upgrade in the near future to the g87. Well, I guess I'll have to figure it out ...

if i had to guess.. for quick trips.. like 30 min or less, i think it would be fine for 5'8 people...if you are 3 are traveling.. i would recommend the shortest go in the back seat though

I am a hair under 6' (used to be 6' even when I was younger and had more hair). I sat in the back seat in the showroom with my neck necessarily kinked to one side and pressed to the headliner. I would think a couple 5'8" could sit in the back for a quick ride out for a meal, but not much more without risk to your friendship.

One friend will fit as long as he is laying sideways across the backseat.
Or you can put the backseats down and have two friend's lay flat with their legs in the trunk.

I used to have a friend with a '65 or '66 Barracuda with the bubble back window. Fold down the seats and head to the drive in!

I would never accuse the seat of being too high in the M240, fyi

Technically I ordered the car without test driving it. The only car my dealer had was a 230i. I was so impressed that I ordered the M240 after seeing all the great reviews.

I think the car looks great, and it appears that the more videos I watch, people are getting less negative about its looks. I think it's currently the best looking front end available from BMW and the rear end, while I never hated it, it is growing on me where I think it actually looks good. The side view has always been great. I am glad I did not buy a 2019 240 when I was in the market, or an S3. Cannot wait to see one of these in person, especially the Brooklyn gray. Added every option except the additional oil cooler/wheel package, weird BMW badges, and M logos on door cards. Brooklyn gray, red interior, red calipers.

I went to my dealer to show place my order and show my wife the car but was told i could see it but wasn’t available to test , when we showed up they asked if we wanted to test drive it so I was like yessir,it was everything I imagined and more I really didn’t care what people thought about the looks because I thought the car was gorgeous, but honestly looking back I wish I didn’t drive it because it’s making this wait a lot more painful

In this market, it’s difficult to get a test drive as the car is either unavailable or “just sold”. Thankfully the reviews on the car have been favorable and should give us a level of confidence of buying this car without the test drive.

In the same boat, I didn't test drive it either, it's a car, it will move, that's all that matters...

We're late to the party down under. I ordered sight unseen but have a condition my contract must see a car before excepting mine or cancel contract.

I imagine since I tested a 430i and M440i they will be pretty close to same

I didn't test drive either, as I ordered in January and the UK launch wasn't until March. Ive had an M135i and 2x M140i's, so knew it would be a big improvement on those, which after the test drive I had a couple of weeks ago, it was confirmed. I'm struggling with the long wait and slipping build weeks, but it will all be worth it in the end!

On the day of what was my first BMW purchase I paid for it before I drove it off of the lot. I had not seen a G42 2 series in person prior to that. Based on what I had read prior to ordering it I felt that it would be pretty special. It has more than met my expectations in all ways. It delivers a great combination of high performance, comfort, efficiency, and fun that is the best I've encountered. Is it the perfect car? No, but it is very good at what it was designed to do. I don't have any regrets and I expect that I'll be happy with this car for years to come.

Blind ordered as well. Coming from driving mustangs in the past. I still have no fears of not enjoying the car. I blind ordered my 2018 Mustang as well and loved the car.

Usually if you do enough research and at least sit in a previous year's model(to make sure you fit) you will know if you will enjoy the car in my opinion.
