Found this video today showing a 2023+ m340 with iDrive 8 getting the ambient light kit installed that worked, and it was a kit from aliexpress.

all of those kits have been known to work on the 3 series pre lci and LCI. and not with good quality. i looked at that video link. on ali its like $120 shipped. id happily pay IAW $20 more for better quality and someone i could talk to in english if I have any issues.

infinite autowerks just posted on thier instagram today of thier kit installed and working on the 2 series. will be buying for my M2 for sure now.

Those didn’t work, they’re programmed for iDrive 7 not 8.

Aliexpress ambient light worked on my brother’s G80 M3 idrive 8. Also tested it works on my M2. Maybe you bought a faulty one?

I had it coded at the dealership with a friend that’s a tech.

I know that there are additional color options available under the M3 tab in BimmerCode. Mine is magenta-blue I think.

No you will only have to recode your custom color profile.

Readdressing the LED is not like bimmercode coding that resets with software updates
