Personally I prefer Danzig's song mother and even though I appreciate the historical meaning of mothers day as a way to point out that we do other shit too but to grow our asses after stretching our vaginas, nowadays it would be more needed to have raise your damn kids and stop crying because your life is over - day.


Motherhood is no task. The things I've gotten in return are far better than the things i valued before kids. I would say it would be better to celebrate the fathers who take time to ensure we still get to be us even after brats and who share the responsibility of the daily upbringing of the tiny monsters.

Haha, you're overestimating my capacity for transportation. Ive seen a pic of textstyle and the guy is huge! My tiny car would not be able to handle it and weight distribution would suffer!

Now, grimglock would end up strangling me for my both loud and inappropriate taste of music since it would fill his head with ideas he's not ready to handle.

As grimlock pointed out this is about mothers day not feeding the Nordic wonders. I do think my mother would consider me ending up as lunch as a really good gift.

My Mother's Day keeps getting better and better.

Yesterday I had a dozen roses and chocolates delivered to my office. Since I am a single Mother and Scarlett is too young to make me a card, I honestly did not expect anything at all. It made me cry. They were from my older sister.

I was so excited about them that I posted the flowers on FB with a little message very similar to what I just wrote. My Mom stayed with me last night to baby sit Scarlett while I went out . This morning I wake up to a hand written Mother's Day Card and Scarlett's hand traced inside. Very sloppy but soooo cute and meaningful. (Every year I trace my hand in my Mother's birthday cards, I have been doing it all my life)

Scarlett also said her first words this morning. "Maaaameeeee! Maaammmaa. Mama. Mama" she kept babbling over and over to me. She started crawling this week too.

I wasn't sure what to get my mother this year. I ended up getting this picture put on a fleece blanket with Happy Mothers Day above it. She opened it the other day, I told her to return it because she broke gift rules. She still has it, I'm too far to do anything about it. Hmpf.
