Towards the end of the game and when the Spurs tied it on the last corner kick, they shouldn't have allowed the goal to stand because Cristian Romero pulled Cucurella's hair on the play. Not even a card. That ref sucked. Tottenham were extremely lucky to get out of there with a point. Chelsea dominated them.

On a side note, I've been pleased with their new signing Koulibaly. That was a really nice goal he scored too.

i think the ref established very early on that he was going to "let them play" and the physicality escalated over the course of the match. i agree that hairpulling should be a penalty but the ref isnt going to see every push, tug, and pull on every set piece. i could also argue chelsea's second goal by james shouldnt have been allowed because of the penalty against kulusevski the forced the turnover immediately prior to james's goal.

That ref, Taylor, he has a history with Chelsea and is well documented. By the way, what is the purpose of VAR? If Taylor didn't see it, I have a hard time believing none of the other sidelines refs didn't.

How about the fact Havertz was fouled blatantly and it wasn't called and subsequently the Spurs went down the field and scored that first goal? That was a ridiculous non call!

Well England has had high temperatures for the last week. I think it was pushing 100 degrees fahrenheit for about a week.

Absolutely disgusting performance by Manchester United. Team needs culling bigly. Maguire need to be taken out back and shot. McTominay and Fred need to find new clubs in the second division of the Bundesliga. De Gea had a stinker but it's ok. Need 5 more actual good players to compete for fourth i reckon. Long season indeed.

Liverpool looking like lost puppy dogs. TAA looks stoned at all time. Darwin got baited so bad and completely lost the plot. Midfield is ManU level tragic. Klopp blaming injuries, which ok yes, but at the same wtf everyone has to deal with these.

Not. Good.

To be fair, two of their four weren't runaways. 1 point over 'Pool on both occasions.

Honestly, I'm fine with Fred as a backup for the odd FA game.
Maguire, McTomi, Rashford, Shaw, Dalot, and Jones all HAVE to get kicked off the team. Bruno, they shouldn't have given him such a huge contract, but damn does he suck.
Poor Ronaldo is stuck with all this dreck.

I pray they get relegated. Then you'll have fans actually responding (like Goldbridge). Until then, nothing will change.

True, but in the end it's the same. Having added Haaland isn't fair. Lol.

Eh, sure, but if Liverpool had a world-class midfielder, they'd be neck and neck again. This year is City's for sure.

On that point, Real Madrid has SIX midfielders that would walk on to a starting 11 on any team in the world. They have the best, and the second best, midfield trio in the world. F*cking hell. Can't wait to see Camavinga evolve!

They seem to be on a roll lately. I'd prefer them over Man City. Gets old seeing the same teams dominate the EPL.

Leeds kinda beat up Chelsea

I prefer when each game can have any outcome, not always the big dog gonna win. Then it's more worth watching

This! Looked so comfortable yesterday, Gabriel Jesus has really transformed the team.

Hope we sign 1 or 2 more senior players and I'll feel quite good about this season.

P.S. Rooting for Liverpool today

What a world we live in now. Man U and Liverpool, floundering at the bottom of the table. Craziness.

United 2 Pool 1
So far ETH has Klopp's number.
Need a few more signings but i think we can have a reasonable year despite the first 2 games.

I watched the entire replay. Liverpool has several notable injuries, so I'm hesitant to say that United was dominating in their win based on this one match.

What was interesting is that the MANU coach benched his captain and Ronaldo from the starting team, and the rest of the team stepped up with a better effort with those two out. Maybe it's a chemistry or ego thing? Anyway, he put Ronaldo in as a late-game sub, and I swear at one point he stood absolutely still on the same blades of grass in the midfield for over a minute not even making a half-hearted effort to get involved with the play.

Arsenal made a few painful cuts of talented/franchise players in the off-season that I attribute to chemistry/ego clashes in their locker room, and you can see the results this season. I suspect that United will need to look hard at the positives versus negatives of having Ronaldo around, and make a similar decision.....
