As much as I want the 911 T though, it is likely just too much money for me with a family of 4 and two other vehicles, mortgage, etc. The M2 is probably more practical for money spent in the sports car category of our budget ha! |

FWIW - I have a T coming in the spring, replacing my 997.2 C2S. I enjoyed my G80 and think the new M2 is going to be fantastic, but it is a fundamentally different car than a 911. Most Ts will be optioned to ~$130k USD, so roughly 2x the M2 - I don't see how one could cross shop the two. Putting price aside, the T will have much more road noise, older tech and more of a purist driving experience.

Ugh… how many miles did it have? Manual or PDK? Edit, never mind, clicked on the link. My build was simply out of curiosity as to what it would run in the event I could actually get an allocation via one of our sister stores. I will build it again and post later. |

Dealer wants me to trade in my 650 GC xDrive but not going to do it, I'm #1 on the dealer list for a T. Here's my build:http://www.porsche-code.com/PPW25CL7

My Carrera T build. I like python and I have seen it in person on a 992 GT3 several times. Now whether or not I could actually follow through with it is another question. To save some money I would probably go with white. http://www.porsche-code.com/PP7X1A80

Just cancelled my #1 spot for a m2 and somehow fell into a CT5 blackwing manual. Size is huge diff but I'm pretty stoked to experience the raw amt of power on a sweet manual.

These 911s are special and have the sharp edge of driving precision, but the M8c is at these insane 911 (2S/GTS) price points - and an M850x is less than the base 911/T and around cayman GTS4.0 (with options).
I can predict the counter arguments… not a real driving experience, numb steering, Porsche will hold its value better, not exciting enough, not special, too heavy, etc etc. The Porsche configurator is a very slippery slope, and you have to really love driving above all else to lay out that kind of money for a low end 911. All seriousness aside, my problem is I can't fit all our stuff in a 2 foot by 1 foot bag of luggage - not to mention the kids - for the "weekend." And running to Whole Foods and Starbucks isn't enough. Maybe after a back surgery, knee surgery, and the kids are in college. In the meantime…. M8 FTW. |

Every time a new M car comes out, there is a thread with an unlikely comparison to a Porsche, and promptly everyone feels the need to justify why they cannot buy a Porsche for whatever reason.
Be happy, there is no shame in not buying a Porsche. |

It's the cheapest manual transmission Porsche with 4 seats (rear seats at no cost option) vs cheapest manual transmission BMW M car. That's why I'm comparing them. I want a manual sports car that I can also take kids in to cars and coffee on the weekend :-)

One of the best real world onroad reviews of this car. I drove an M3 Xdrive Comp before ordering the '23 M2 and completely agree. I can only compare it to my 992 4S just without the fantastic front end feel of the Porsche but the Beemers have more range from comfort to aggression then the 992. The Porsche is a scalpel the BMW is a cut throat razor. The Porsche puts down clinical speed with precision. The Beemer is a white knuckle ride on a rocket lift off. The boxer sounds much better especially down low and sings it's way to a solid 7,500 while the S58 sounds rough and ready. The ZF is impressive and feels racecar strong on the street but the PDK remains the best box in the world. The tech is much much better in the BMW and the cabin actually feels much bigger.
Both absolutely incredible, incredible cars. It really comes down to how you'll drive them and if you want clinical speed and precision or white knuckle street muscle performance. I also own two R34 GTRs and the S58 actually has a bit of GTR feel, they're both 1999 and have an old school roughness to them that the G series cars actually have a little of that feel on them. For me, coming from a JDM background I also like to mod my cars and the G platform is such a great mod foundation. The 911 you won't want to mod it's to much a precision instrument to alter. |

Cayennes and Macans can easily be had. Non GT 992 allocations 12-18 months depending which model. |
