I want to lessen the standard wheel gap but not want to run the risk of any potential damage to the shocks / car. Even “cutting” the bump stocks doesn’t sit well with me. I am no expert but by cutting them that would allow the shocks to go beyond the travel they were intended for right? Again, I am no expert so I would be interested to hear other opinions on this. |

I think in most circumstances the car will be fine using lowering springs, but it is out of the spec of the factory dampers, obviously. I’ve ran lowering springs on many cars successfully and improved the performance of the car by doing so. A few times at the expense of ride quality, however with the M2’s adj dampers, I don’t see this negatively affecting the ride quality.
It’ll require more intentional awareness and defensive driving to avoid bumps, dips, potholes, angled driveways etc, especially if you’re running a front lip + lowered. I’ll be running a lip, which is another reason I wish there was a 10mm option vs the 20-25mm options.

I too have lowered many cars in tha past, however this is my first M car, and as a person who has held M cars above all else all my life, and always dreamt of one day owning one, I am probably just being over cautious. So I appreciate the re assurance |

With the US version no real need to cut the bumpstops. I noticed no detriment to ride quality with my car.
