Loving the photos! I'm definitely going to be putting that spoiler and those wheel arch fenders (front and rear) on mine, but that's all. The winglets don't do it for me. They don't look very sleek and seem too vertical...

Agreed although haven’t had anytime around a M2 in person like you . But I still feel that way since this M240i really does check all the boxes for me. I’ve had mine since last June and instead of like most cars finding things you don’t like I find the more time with the M240i the more things I find I like more about it . I feel like I’m still on the honeymoon going on a year lol. Never had that experience with any other car I’ve ever owned and I’ve had a lot ! Yea I love BG but man that blue you have is beautiful !!

Not is the slightest. That thing still gets hate all over the net, not just in BMW forums. When the forum has to ban people or threaten to ban people, the rhetoric dies down. But the pig nose hate is still there outside these forum walls.

Excellent review. I agree completely and like some of the M performance part add ons (not the winglets though)

I had the same reaction when I first saw it in person too, there is a presence to it akin to a GT3 or R8 that really no other bmw brings. Imo the non shadowline lights improve the front end instead of just looking like black holes. I will say it is much bigger than I expected though coming from a f87, both in width and length, but the interior still feel as small as the f87 but the g87 trunk was much bigger.

The G87 is a design that likely will not age well. There is no flow/integration in the design. It literally appears pieced-together - like a body kit that doesn’t work with the sheetmetal.
Spent quite a lot of time looking at this car in-person and I just don’t see much to praise. It makes the G80/82 seem minimally controversial. |

Love both my G42 (had it for 16 months) and the G87 I test drove. I'm personally looking forward to having a manual gearbox again. If BMW offered RYOG on the M240i, I think the G42 is hands down bang for your buck the best value. You can't discount how good of a daily driver the M240i xDrive can be, however, for a weekend car, the G87 just feel that little bit more fun and on edge.

Personally, I agree but it DOESN'T matter because 6MT. Not a huge amount of options for MT/RWD sports cars in this price/performance bracket.
That being said, I like the muscle-car style of the G87 much, much more than the G8x. I think it will age just fine. |

I like it. Like it much better with a drop and some bigger wheel arch fillers.

OP...you echo my thoughts exactly...saw my first G87 at moto GP at COTA a couple weeks ago, was sponsored by BMW. They had a ZB without all the tacky add ons. It definitely has a presence. I love my mineral white G42 but after seeing the G87 in person thinking about getting a TR one

How does the xDrive G42 compare with your old modified 440i, was that RWD or xDrive? I thought the 440i could easily make over 400whp with a simple tune, does the G42 feel low on power in comparison? I am thinking about getting an F82 or a G42 xDrive. Always liked how the F series M3/M4 looked but the new M240i xDrive seems like a good car to drive all year round, it snows heavily over here.
Also, looks are subjective, in my opinion the G87 looks really good in the pictures that you posted, even that color looks great. I am yet to see one in person. If it came with xDrive that would’ve been my first choice. G82 does not look this good and lacks the wider hips/stance. |
